Summary
THE FEEL-GOOD NOVEL OF THE SUMMER
A heart-warming, heart-wrenching wartime story from The Sunday Times bestselling author of Dear Mrs Bird, AJ Pearce.
Emmy Lake is the much-loved agony aunt at Woman’s Friend magazine, relied upon by readers across the country as they face the challenges of life on the Home Front. With the problem page thriving and a team of fantastic women behind her, Emmy finally feels she is Doing Her Bit.
But when a glamorous new owner arrives, everything changes. As the Honourable Mrs Porter tries to charm her way around the rest of the team, Emmy realizes that she plans to destroy everything readers love about the magazine.
With happiness quickly turning to heartbreak and war still raging in Europe, will Emmy and her friends find the inner strength they need to keep keeping on - and save the magazine they love?

I do hope there’s another one!
The third book in this series about women’s lives in WW2 is every bit as charming, sad and uplifting as it’s predecessors. As it finishes in January 1944, I do hope that AJ Pearce can give us another one to get Emmie and her chums through to the end of the war!

Love these books
Lovely period stories - heartwarming and emotional. I see them a little in the vein of Call the Midwife. Well researched, full of interesting details and beautifully read. I can’t wait for the next one.

Following characters you will love and care about, you will be transported back to WW2 with all its hardships, cheery camaraderie and wartime spirit. Completely wonderful!! Next instalment please!

Excellent
A light yet delightful book. Some serious points but, overall a perfect summer read. Beautifully written and really gave you a strong understanding what might have been going on for women at home during ww2.

Heartwarming conclusion to trilogy
I thoroughly enjoyed to first two in AJ Pearce’s trilogy about Emmie Lake & its finale was no disappointment. The continuation of characters into a third book was well written losing nothing of their charm & continuing to develop both existing & new characters. I thoroughly enjoyed Mrs Porter Calling & wish that there would be further additions but this is a delightful & heartwarming finale. I highly recommend reading both Dear Mrs Bird & Yours Cheerfully before this book to fully experience the life of the characters & storyline running through.
