Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
The audiobook of Monstrous Regiment is narrated by Katherine Parkinson, star of The IT Crowd and Here We Go. BAFTA and Golden Globe award-winning actor Bill Nighy (Love Actually; Pirates of the Caribbean; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) reads the footnotes, and Peter Serafinowicz (Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace; Shaun of the Dead) stars as the voice of Death. Featuring a new theme tune composed by James Hannigan.
'THAT'S THE TROUBLE ABOUT THE GOOD GUYS AND THE BAD GUYS! THEY'RE ALL GUYS!'
In the small yet aggressive country of Borogravia, there are strict rules citizens must follow. For a start, women belong in the kitchen - not in jobs, pubs, or indeed trousers. And certainly not on the front line.
Polly Perks has to become a boy in a hurry if she wants to find her missing brother in the army. Cutting off her hair and wearing the trousers is easy. Going to war however, is not.
Polly and her fellow raw recruits are suddenly in the thick of a losing battle. All they have on their side is the most artful sergeant in the army and a vampire with a lust for coffee.
It's time to make a stand.
The first book in the Discworld series-The Colour of Magic-was published in 1983. Some elements of the Discworld universe may reflect this.

Great story let down by the narrator
The story was great as I thought it would be. Unfortunately it was let down by Katherine Parkinson's narration. Some of the adaptations in this series have been great, but the characterisations of some protagonists were just wrong. Characters that are clever are made to sound stupid - and not in a good way - more a playground insult way.

Perfection
A brilliant story brought to life by the amazing Katherine Parkinson. Could not have asked for a better voice to tell this story!

More KP!
A Great story, although some of the themes were touched on more deftly in Fifth Elephant I thought. Katherine Parkinson's narration is fantastic, more of her please!

not quite right
This has to be my favourite Discworld novel (so I'm going to be the worst critic, I know).
I loved the versions read by Stephen Briggs and Tony Robinson.
if I'd have listened to the sample I wouldn't have bothered,
I'm gutted, my first ever bad experience of terry pratchett's work after being a fan for over 20 years.

fabulous story great narration but
I love STP Discworld. I really enjoyed the Narrator but... I have a character crush on Stephen Briggs' Vimes. it just wasn't the same. All the rest was brilliant. I vote for Stephen Briggs to do the voice of Vimes.

Reader does a great job
One of my favorite Pratchett books, so had high expectations. I was impressed by Katherine Parkinson’s performance.

Excellent
Intricately worded and full of real and engrossing characters. The end has a lot of characters to juggle so it's a shame Mal and Car get left out of the climax.

What a story
Everything is just perfect. I initially wasn’t sure in this story but 30 minutes in and I was obsessed. What a bloody good story. This has probably skyrocketed to one of my top TP books!

Brilliant
This is such a clever book.
Poignant, humorous, horribly real at times
As usual Terry Pratchett juggles all these elements with skill and intelligence.
Extremely well read.
