Summary

Megan "Meggie" Foy has had a tough life. Her home life is nothing as it seems. Living with her mother and stepfather is a complete nightmare. They seem to have the perfect little family, but appearances can be deceiving and monsters are closer than you think. When her body and mind can take no more abuse at the hands of her stepfather, Meggie finally decides to run, hoping her father, MC President of the Death Dwellers' Joseph "Boss" Foy, can save her and rescue her terrified mother from the clutches of her step-monster, before it's too late for them.

Christopher "Outlaw" Caldwell deals in a world of violence, sex, drugs, and crudity. As current president of the Death Dwellers' MC, he presides over a club in chaos after the death of their longtime president and his mentor, Joseph "Boss" Foy. Outlaw is trying to keep everything with the club in his control. What happens when more trouble arises in the form of a blonde-haired, 18-year-old beauty with the same eyes as his former mentor?

Meggie discovers her daddy is gone and now there may be no one to save her and her mother. How will she feel when she finds out the man who killed him is the man she's falling in love with? Can Outlaw get past his demons to truly find love with Meggie and peace with the death of Boss Foy? Alliances will be made, loyalties tested, lives will be lost, but will love conquer all in the world of bikers and revenge?

Warning: For mature audiences only. Contains physical abuse, violence, rape, and excessive profanity.

disappointing

I really wanted to like this as I've been searching for a new MC series but despite my best efforts, I just didn't. The main characters just really lacked likeability, the story was predictable and the narration terrible

Oh yeah.....Mislead Me anytime!💞

Now this is what a "Biker" romance story should be!!!
I did not know what to expect when I started this listen. It was an incredible story! This is a new author for me and I really hope there is more to come!
The narrator was kind of bland but not terrible !
It had all the elements of an exciting thrill ride complete with a HEA, a sexy hot alpha male lead, and his club!
Absolutely worth a credit or coin!!
And oh yes, a complete story, no stringing us out for 2 or 4 short books!!
Thank you Kathryn Kelly for such an enjoyable book, you have made a fan of me!!!

couldn't finish

Okay, so this book might be great to someone else but I just couldn't stand it. The female lead is only 18 and the way she acts you can tell she is barely 18, which in turn made me sick everytime the Male lead talked Bout her sexually. it also made her annoying which sucked because she has had a horrible life and its not her fault. Then you have chris who claims to respect women but treats her like utter crap because of who her dad that she never really knew was? Idk it might have gotten better but I couldn't finish it and I normally like dark books but this one just made me uncomfortable. also the narrator was absolute crap, he made all the big bad bikers expect Chris sound like girls.

Ok story. Bad narration.

Slightly annoying how the girl mc was a virgin and 18 and the male mc was 33. Too much inner dialogue about random crap when major events were happening. Then there was the narrator... monotonous and he made the male mc sound like Elvis and the other male characters sound like girls.

Don’t bother

The story is slow enough that I can’t get into it. Plus the narrator is a total downer. Monotonous is the most positive thing I can say about him

Interesting MC Story

Megan Foy’s home life is a misery. An abusive step-father has forced her to leave home in search of protection from her absentee father, the president of the Death Dwellers MC. Megan instead finds Christopher Caldwell has taken over as president and her father is nowhere to be found. Christopher has no choice but to take Megan under his protection and at the same time keep her at arm’s length. There are secrets that Christopher is desperate to keep from Megan, but fate has other plans.

If you like your MC romance raw and extreme, Misled is the audiobook for you. It pulls no punches and the characters are flawed and basically without remorse. I’ve listened to a lot of MC romance books so I’m pretty much immune to cursing in these type of stories. So when I take notice of the amount of cursing in an audiobook you know it’s got to be way above average even for this genre of book.

Misled is a well-written story, I had problems with the fidelity of the characters either in actions or thoughts. I’m not opposed to infidelity in a storyline, but I insist they suffer for their choices before obtaining redemption. While there is plenty of angst in this nearly 11-hour audiobook, fidelity is one that’s glossed over in my opinion.

Samuel Valor has fully voiced this audiobook and he is a new narrator to me. I loved his voice, it’s deep and has a rough edge and his reading added so much value to the telling of this story and is perfect for this genre. His narration helped tip this audiobook to a 4-star rating.

This audiobook was gifted to me in exchange for an unbiased review!

A gritty and dark romance!

What made the experience of listening to Misled the most enjoyable?

Misled was a dark and gritty biker story. There were many twists and turns that you didn’t see coming. There was just enough action and suspense to keep my interest. This story does show you that through adversity and suffering you can become a stronger person despite it all. Although there is murder and violence throughout, the story gives the reader a happy conclusion. There were many sexual scenes that were intensely graphic, so if that is not your thing be forewarned.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

There were a few negatives to the book in my opinion. Some of the parts to the story were unbelievable. It seemed that sometimes cuss words were thrown in random places. Yes, it is a biker club book, which has cussing, however it seemed overly obsessive with cuss words in places that they just didn’t fit or need to be. The last thing I didn’t care for was the main character, Megan Fox. Her character was so unbelievable. She was extremely naïve and sounded/acted like she was 8 years old instead of 18. For all the trauma and abuse that she went through, you would think it would support a little more maturity and less naivety from her. Other than those few minor things, the story was interesting and kept my attention.

What about Samuel Valor’s performance did you like?

Samuel Valor did a great job with the narration. He had a clear and crisp voice that was easy to follow. He did a great job with the voice inflections.

Any additional comments?

This is the first book that I have read by Kathryn Kelly. I recommend Misled to anyone that enjoys a gritty motorcycle club romance.

Hang on tight this one is a fantastic book!

Christopher is the epitome of a bad biker guy, he has a chip on his shoulder and try as he might to be a cold hearted bastard, he shows by his actions and words that he is underneath a caring person, since he has known little love in his life by mainly his mother, he has had to deal with hate and embarrassment as to how he came into this world, I loved the layers of Christopher, I felt he was a product of his environment and no matter how badly he treated others, until Maggie he was resigned to his lot in life, Maggie on the other hand is sweetness and everything good in this world, she had a innocence as well as a lot of sass, I loved watching how the author took two opposite's and threw them together the layers of this story were amazing, and this is my first book by Kathryn Kelly, and it wont be the last, fair warning though, this book has rape, about a billion of the f bomb, and murder. and a story that wont let you put it down till its done, five stars all the way

side note: the narrator Samuel Valor did a good job, I really wish they would had done two narrators though, Maggie deserved a voice too

Narrator issue

If you set to 115x narration is doable however, dual narration was definately needed with a female.

One of my favs

This is a seriesI that repeat listen to periodically when I have given enough time to forget some of the details. There is not a book in the series that doesn’t get me in the “feels” territory! Used to be I would never read or listen to any books more than once. So now it’s usually a series or several series by the same author. And believe me it’s a very selective group of authors love you Kathryn Kelly. Are you working on something now?
