Summary

"An amazing, outstanding, all consuming, addicting and downright SEXY read!" ~Sassy Little Book Nerd

A washed-up model at the age of 27, Oliver Connely has gone from being a household name to barely making the rent. It’s time to think fast - and cash in big - with a can’t-miss idea inspired by the passion he sees in a handful of romance novel fans. Book Boyfriend Incorporated is born.

Can’t. Miss.

Right?

Except for the unexpected glitches Oliver’s business plan doesn’t cover - like falling for one of his “lonely lady” clients, Bailey Hardin, a politician’s wife who’s as smart and loyal as she is beautiful and sexy. Their chemistry, instant and scorching, is already a problem - but when Bailey’s husband turns up dead, the pair quickly learns they’re facing more than a simple PR nightmare.

The mess intensifies when Oliver’s best friend decides to put a bid in for the freshly vacated city manager position, ensuring Oliver is now caught between his longtime best friend and his new ladylove. The clock is ticking, and the political scandal is growing. Tough decisions must be made - especially because, for the first time in Oliver’s life, matters of his heart are on the line.

 *****

Always read the blurb!

Okay, so I saw a few recommendations for this book in some groups I follow and it was a Whispersync deal so I bought it without reading the blurb. My bad. I know better. There are some things I just thouroughly dislike in a story and cheating is one of them. If I'd read the blurb, it makes it clear that cheating is involved. Again, my bad.

I will say though, that in a really compelling story I can get over this prejudice. Sadly, this was not a really compelling story. I thought the characters were very surface-level, self-centered, and altogether morally questionable even beyond the cheating aspect. While the writing itself wasn't awful, with a general dislike of the characters and no sense of growth or change happening in them I gave up on this story a little past the halfway point. I just couldn't see investing another 2.5 hours in characters and a story that I couldn't bring myself to care about.

The one redeeming part is that the narration by Jason Clarke was excellent.

Your book fantasies come to life

Oliver's predicament of being an out of work model, looking for works takes him down a whole new path. Once he discovers his strengths, (being incredibly good looking) he comes on an idea sparked by a discussion of the women at the pool.
He will sell the fantasy of the book boyfriend.
Meeting his client Bailey changes him, and gets him in a whole lot deeper than he anticipated with both Bailey and his roommate Skye.
This one does go some directions you don't necessarily see coming. It's a fun Rom/Com with a few spicey scenes thrown in. Jason Clarke's narration is excellent, he carries the story well.

Jason Clarke is Book Boyfriend Worthy

Jason Clarke is a book boyfriend. He narrates the entire delicious story *swooning*. Long story short, Oliver is a fashion model who has not worked for a bit and he was looking for a new gig. After over hearing the ladies talk about their book boyfriends at the pool he impulsively put an ad out on the internet to be a book boyfriend for hire. He ends up falling for his first client. There is angst in the middle between his client now girlfriend and his best friend and room mate. I have to say I did not like the girlfriend until she redeemed herself at the end. Jason Clarke’s performance is amazing.

Very Enjoyable

This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed it!

It was cute and light. The middle dragged a little as she pulled the pieces together to wrap up the story but not badly.

I adore Jason Clarke! He has a lovely voice that makes any story that much better!!

Book boyfriend

Once I started this audio I could not put it down. Man all the emotions I felt while reading about Oliver was insane. I went from not really liking him to absolutely loving him to siding with his best friend Skye so freaking much that when they got into an argument I turned my kindle off I anger for her lol. Great book with a really great narrator. My first time listening to him and I really liked him.

Oliver can be my book boyfriend

For a seemingly easy going romance this book really had me guessing up until the end.

When Oliver starts to see a decrease in his modeling career he realizes he's got to think outside the box in order to make ends meet. How can he put his charm and good looks to use? Simple, create an industry to provide "Book Boyfriends" to women everywhere. What woman wouldn't want a night with the dangerous bad boy, the bad ass biker, the dominate billionaire etc? With Book Boyfriend Inc all of those fantasies can become a reality. The only problem is that Oliver starts to develop feelings for a client, now the trick is to keep his new business up and running while trying to maintain a real relationship.

Fun, sexy, addictive. Amazing listen!

Words can’t even describe how blown away I am with this new addition to the Misadventures series.

For starters, I think Jason Clarke nailed Oliver’s part perfectly. I was totally captivated by every notch of his voice, whether it was his female imitations or voices right down to his husky, delicious and seductive voice that had me squirming in my seat every time he spoke something even remotely sexual! It was amazing. He was amazing! Amazing choice!

Victoria Blue isn’t a new author to me, I’ve read Secrets Of Stone series which she collaborated with Angel Payne with and deliverers an amazing series and now she’s joined the Misadventures series and just given us an amazing, outstanding, all consuming, addicting and down right SEXY read! She’s such a great addiction to the Misadventures community!

When Waterhouse Press first announced Book Boyfriend, I was beyond excited, I mean the name alone is enough to spike your interest, every woman who listens/reads romances, will have Book Boyfriends, so I was more than intrigued, once I’d seen the blurb and cover, I WAS SOLD!

This book OUTSTANDING. Absolutely outstanding. It was a quick and fun listen, and had me smiling and swooning at the knees too, but it held so much heat, and a few twist and turns were thrown in the mix. I couldn’t stop listening! Bravo, Victoria! You nailed it flawlessly with your first book in this series! I can’t wait to see whatever else you’ve got planned!!

5 hot and swoony Stars!

Great Read

Misadventures with a Book Boyfriend is another great read by Victoria Blue. Oliver is 27 years old and is a washed-up model. He can now barely make his rent. He need to cash in big and creates Book Boyfriend Incorporated, it is inspired by the passion he sees in romance novel fans. He doesn't expect glitches in his business plan, the biggest being falling for a client. Bailey is a politician's wife that he has intense chemistry. I really enjoyed Oliver's story and can't wait to read more by Victoria Blue.
