The love triangle between Mena, Phoenix and Alex continues to draw me in. The deception, angst, and intimacy between them all is astounding. The storyline has so many twists and turns that the mystery of what happens next keeps you listening until the very end.

Pleasantly Surprised!

To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first started this book. A new author is sometimes scary to me because I know what I like and change is a big deal to me. However, I may have just found a new favorite author!

Werewolves, vampires and other supernatural creatures are on my top list and Midnight Moonrising has it all. Unlike some of my other favorite supernatural books though, this book seems like it could be as close as you can get if there actually were supernaturals lurking about in the ‘real world”. The characters are fun, sexy (I think I’m in love with Phoenix) and they can be a little crazy at times. There are many twists in the storyline that will have you at the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next.

I’m excited to find out what happens to Mena, Alex, Phoenix and Ace!!

Wow

I got this book via audiobook boom. The narration was very well done. Loved Mena, Phoenix and Alex. Can't wait for the next book. The twist and turns in this story kept me wanting to shirk my duty and just listen to the whole story at one time. But discipline kept me from doing that. But when I got back to it. I listened until the end. The only problem I have with the book is the cliffhanger. I hate them. Just finish the story and create another one with the same characters. The minds that went into developing this story can write one without cliffhangers and just tie the next story to the first.

Wonderful PNR

Enjoyed all the twists and turns in this PNR love triangle. The intimacy is hot. The mystery of who is behind the betrayal keeps you in suspense.

Yes. It is a great story and the characters are done so that they stick with you

When Phoenix actually admitted to feeling love.

What does Pyper Down bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She gives each character her best. And helps bring them to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I just didn't want to shut it off.

Highly recommend this book. Also recommend reading the prequel first to get the most out of it.

Midnight Moonrising

Would you consider the audio edition of Midnight Moonrising to be better than the print version?

Yes because it's over 450 pages long. I never would've read a book that size.

I usually stay away from audible books because they are such a hassle to get over to my tablet.
This one transferred and was waiting for me! Other have me and the author stumped for weeks til they send me a different format.
This book starts with Mena, her ex's funeral. He was the pack leader and how she's the leader. None of her friends knew he was a werewolf.
Others in important positions have her back and she won't be going to jail at all...
Her inner wolf wants her to do other things and she is strong...
She needs a right hand man and Darrin fills the spot but 27 others want the spot also. He orients her to the duties and other questions she has about the pack.
Her inner wolf wants to kill Phoenix so she can have Alex, the detective to herself.
They hope the witches have the answers to the killings...There are a lot of other creatures introduced that help also.
What I do like, even though to me it's all a fairytale is that there are problems and I like the way they find creative solutions to them.
Think I would like to read the next book if it's the end of the series but it's not really my genre but I enjoyed the series so far.

Loved this continuing story

Where does Midnight Moonrising rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is definitely in my top 10 of books I have listened too.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Royal with his humor actually was my favorite.

The continuation of the prequel story definitely kept me on my toes. I love the different POV's in the book. The narration was awesome. The story itself never let up. I did not feel at any point that there was a lull or feel the need to skip chapters because every minute was so full that I didn't want to miss a single one.

RIVETING BOOK 1 STANDS ALONE, BUT READ THE PREQUEL

I was given this book free for an unbiased review.

Great series! I was introduced to a new world of Werewolf, Vampire and Witch society. Ancient enemies trying to unite while navigating new leadership, love triangles, revenge and betrayal. I didn't read the prequel so the first third of the book I knew there was a background I was missing but it didn't interfere with the unfolding story. Midway through I was hooked. There were a lot of things happening to a lot of different characters. Not everything had closure in my opinion, but my guess is that the next book will see them through. I was left with such compassion for both Phoenix and Ace, and know I would be hopelessly lost if I was in Mena's situation. The ending left me satisfied enough to call it (almost) a HEA but with a thirst for an answer to an obvious dilemma.

Narration was superb. There was a run of chapters that pulled my crazy card, though. Every time the dialog said they laughed or chuckled a response, the narrator tossed in a chuckle and it was always the same sound regardless of the character, which quickly became annoying.

Definitely, 2 THUMBS UP!

Excellent Story

I received this audio book free for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book the authors gave us so much that I bought the second book. Haven't quite finished it yet, but there is only a couple hours left. Haigwood and Conley evidently have a great team to have come up with such a great story. Mena and Phoenix and Ace. Oh and don't forget the cop. What a combination. At the end of the book, I'm not sure who I was rooting for. Maybe Phoenix. But, once you get into book number two, you might change your mind, or you will be as confused as me as to who to choose. Anyway, Pyper Down did a great job of portraying each of the characters. I really enjoyed her narration. Looking forward to more books by these authors.
