Beautifully written
This is a nicely written book by Erica. I can tell she put her heart into the words. I am a Christian woman and heavily believe in compassion and "walking in another's shoes". Erica did a nice job of discussing a variety of mental illnesses and how we can use our faith to help. She shed some light on common issues and opened the door for discussion. I really enjoyed this audiobook 🥰

A Deeper understanding
This book has shed a different light on mental disorders and how to recognize them through the eyes of Christianity. My Dad struggled with mental illness a major part of his life and listening to this book has really enlightened me on how to handle it. I misunderstood a lot of his actions. Trillion Skinner has done a fantastic job with narration all through the book. Definitely a good listen the entire family can learn from Thank you!!

Captures the Christian perspective perfectly
To be clear, this book is written 100% from the Christian perspective with many quotes from the Bible, so it may not be for everyone. This was written from a perspective of experience and humility by the author. I recommend this book to any Christians looking for support dealing with people in their lives who have addictions or even if they are dealing with things like this themselves. The passages quoted from the Bible lend comfort during troubled times and are very helpful for those who are struggling. Well written and well read!

Spiritual Healing
Due to our natural inclinations, the addictions and disorders people claim are mostly self inflicted. In today's society of self driven pleasure seekers, we are no more than just sinners as the author plainly explained. And until we reconcile with God, our maker; we will wonder about and for most, a slow and painful destruction, led by the spirit of the air. The personal experience shared by the author was genuine as it relates to constant exposure of negativity and sin. Most people don't realize what is sin because they don't know any better. The scriptures cited in the book was perfect for it's application. This is not an ordinary book as it can lead to spiritual healing and self realization. Excellent narration by Trillian.

Lots of Bible!
This is an interesting book for Christians considering how to relate with destructive people who are narcissistic, substance abusers, or who suffer from a mood disorder. Peninger preaches that the hurt we experience from such people can bring us closer to God and help us understand God's heart for the lost. She offers many scriptures to make her point and argues that if we have the power to do so, we should offer God's love by bringing hurting people to Jesus for healing in a variety of ways.
