Summary
During the pandemic, camping was supposed to be a fairly safe activity. That's only if you don't camp with Frannie Shoemaker. Frannie and her husband Larry commit in the fall of 2019 to take on a campground hosting job in the spring of 2020. In that time, the world turned upside down, and their job came with a whole new set of challenges. But of course, where Frannie's involved, other trouble can't be far behind!

They are back and loved it
This might not be for everyone as it might be too soon but for me it was very interesting. I missed most of the pandemic in this stages as like Beth I was ill, so I am interested to learn what happened (curiosity on my behalf) and it is also very interesting to learn how different countries reacted.
Anyway back to the story, how can Frannie and her family encounter so much, but if not then it wouldnt be so much fun. The sections regarding the weather were interesting as well.
I am hoping that the grandchildren are going to feature going forward, they were quite fun.
The narration really works and Michelle ensures that each character is very different.

A cracking mystery
This is a cracking mystery. A little more serious in then others in this series dealing with the early days of the pandemic. Frannie and her husband are trying out being campground hosts and dealing with odd guests, had weather, family issues, an attack and Covid restrictions. The mystery is great as usual, the characters are good and the ending satisfactory. I really loved these books. Michelle Babb is a accomplished narrator prefect for these stories

"Time to party."
Such a fun series following Frankie Showmaker, her husband, and usually some other members of the extended family as the joyfully meet together with their trailers for happy camping and the inevitable murder. Easy reading, great characters and fun exploring plus a mystery to be solved, all most ably performed by Michelle Babb.
Enjoy the outing.
Definitely recommended.

"Thirsty for more"
As I end this series and wanting more I am completely blown away by this book. It's a fantastic story to listen to. Narration is supreme and really brings this one alive in your mind. At points I felt like I was part of the story. 5 Stars for Narrator 5 Stars for the Author and 5 stars for the series

Welcome back Franny!
Franny and Larry are back in this book 10 in a great series. This time they host a camp during the Covid Pandemic with all the trials and tribulations that brought about. Add a disappearance of a camper, a viscious storm and trying to home educate the grandchildren whilst their mother is seriously ill in hospital with the virus and it all adds up to another entertaining few hours listening. Michelle Babbs narration as usual is impeccable and results in a very entertaining listen. Well worth it's 5 stars. *****

Troubling times
With all the heartache that went on with covid 19, I can understand why reading or listening about it might not be everybody's cup of tea but I really enjoyed this book and I didn't need a tissue. We all know the struggles we went through during this time but the author not only managed to give us an idea of what it was like living on a campsite (even with things you would never think of) but also added some extra problems and twists. I liked the characters and at book 10, even with covid restrictions, the old familiar characters and fan favourites were able to join in not only on the investigation but also on the banter. I loved that Frannie's grandchildren joined the group. The story did focus more on covid and the weather but Frannie still managed to get herself tangled up in an investigation. Just love this series.
Frannie and Larry agree to play host for a campground in the hope that if they do a good job it might lead to a good position in the winter months. Then covid 19 hits and everything changes. Now they have to try and help enforce the tighter restrictions but Frannie's daughter in law ends up in hospital with covid and she and Larry are left taking care of there two grandchildren. Home schooling is bad enough with no internet but with a storm on the way and a missing camper things are about to get a whole lot worse. Can Frannie and her family survive what is about to hit and find the missing woman?
I liked the narrator. She is a pleasure to listen to and this is the type of book (and narrator) that you just want to hear all in one sitting.

Engaging Compelling Quirky Mystery
Really enjoyed this next book in the series quite quirky and funny in places, more a mystery adventure this time with Frannie in the middle, narration as ever was brilliant

Frannie solves crimes during the COVID pandemic!
Mask of Death is #10 in the Frannie Shoemaker Campground Mystery by Karen Musser Nortman. This is a great series and I have thoroughly enjoyed every engaging book. In this book, Frannie and Larry are working as campground hosts in the midst of the COVID pandemic. Wearing masks and social distancing should be easy in the campground, but Frannie had to keep reminding everyone. As if that wasn’t enough, Frannie and Larry, as hosts, have to deal with cranky and strange campers and of course, crime and other trouble, including her sick daughter in law and a tornado. Frannie works to solve the mysteries and keep her family safe. Ms. Nortman captures the restrictions, rules, frustrations, stress snd uncertainty that was happening just a few years ago. Although spring 2020 was part of the setting of the story, it was written so realistically that I felt a bit of anxiety reading about Frannie and friends. The story had a great characters, a solid mystery with twists and turns that pulled me in from the beginning and kept me engaged until the very end. The narration by Michelle Babb was absolutely fabulous, as always. Her performance creates individualized voices and accents that brings the characters and story to life. Ms. Babb is one of the best narrators I’ve heard and it’s always a pleasure to listen to a book she’s narrated. I can’t wait for the next Frannie Shoemaker mystery and her next adventure. I hope the grandchildren are still able to camp with Frannie and Larry! I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.
