Summary

Michael Young is a brilliant young history student whose life is changed when he meets Leo Zuckerman, an ageing physicist with a theory that can change worlds.

Together they realise that they have the power to alter history and eradicate a great evil. But tinkering with time lines is more dangerous than they can imagine, and nothing - past, present or future - will ever be the same again.

I've waited a long time

I adore this book, so clever and inventive.. The presentation here is wonderful, the mix of voices works superbly and the added sound effects are perfect...

stick with it, it's well worth it.

Spent the first few chapters wondering what on earth was going on, but after a few chapters the story starts falling together into a fantastic, imaginative and thought provoking tale. Really glad I stayed with it.

Time travel masterpiece

An excellent story showing Fry's deep understanding of history. Wonderful time travel adventure with lots of consideration of the repercussions of the alternate history created.

The book is structured in an odd fashion, and I felt like I wasn't following it properly quite often, but still enjoyable, and I think it warrants a second read/listen.

Fry at his finest!

Wonderfully accessible story of time travel, destiny and love.
A magnificent production with Stephen's inimitable voice complemented by Richard E Grant.

Stick out the first half hour.

Written and narrated by Stephen Fry, so purchased without question, naturally. The first half an hour or so is a little quirky - but stick it out and you shall be rewarded!

The story is full of plot holes, but Richard R Grant’s narration alone means you should give this a go.

I really like listening to Stephen Fry’s voice, but his sections of the story are tough to believe the plot. The parts with Richard E Grant are beautiful voiced and completely gripping.

Overall it was worth a listen but could have been much better.

What a book!

This book has me laughing, crying, confused, happy, sad and the gamut of all the other emotions. The narration was perfection and I was drawn in to both the history and the contemporary sections. I loved this book and I am sorry it is finished.

Pleasantly unusual

A somewhat out of the box time travel story made incredibly more enjoyable due to the stitching of the protagonists story line with that of the back story. Narrated by two of the finest voices possible, the author himself and the unmistakable rich tones of Richard E Grant. The imagination is helped along at times by the clever use of almost a screenplay type script, very cleverly used to aid communication between author's minds and the readers.

Finally!!!!

I have waited for this audiobooks to be created since Stephen first recorded the hippo. Why has it taken so long, I do not know, but finally it is here, and finally I can hear this book again. So pleased.
