Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Michael Young is a brilliant young history student whose life is changed when he meets Leo Zuckerman, an ageing physicist with a theory that can change worlds.

Together they realise that they have the power to alter history and eradicate a great evil. But tinkering with timelines is more dangerous than they can imagine and nothing - past, present or future - will ever be the same again.

Making History is funny, moving, romantic and told with Stephen Fry's characteristic skill and brilliance.

What if?

A marvellously well written and wonderfully told story, well it’s really 2 stories in one book so bonus points all around.
If you like history and the question “what if”, then you will enjoy this book.

No idea what was going on but loved it anyway!!

Firstly I’m a fan of Stephen Fry and Richard E Grant and enjoyed their narration. The first half of the book was intriguing but I was constantly wondering what was going on and the depth of the story during the Great War in the German trenches still baffles me, why? Who! What! but it was an enjoyable bewilderment. However the second half was easier to follow as the hard work of laying the foundations had been done in first half. You won’t be bored listening to this and I became increasingly invested as the story unfolded and I grasped the plot. And overall I thoroughly enjoyed buoyed it. As others have said stick with it!

Gripping, exciting - a brilliant listen

I just loved this book. The story is fascinating and utterly gripping. And who else could you possibly want to narrate but Stephen Fry and Richard E Grant. I didn't want it to end.

What if

performance from stephen is great
the story is great carefully knitted together
the book has two main climaxes which are quick once delivered but the journey is better than the arrival

Thought-provoking

At first I wondered what this book was going to be about as the themes of chapters jumped about. Gradually I realized that the various threads were coming together and the book developed into a thought-provoking 'what if' kind of story as to how pivotal events can change the course of history.
Ably narrated by the author and Richard E Grant. The contrast between the voices made it easier to follow the differnt threads.

Great story line and fantastic reading by Messrs Fry and Grant. I can't believe I've never come across this before. I love history and I love Fry's take on an alternative one. definitely food for thought!
