About this listen

Peter Alan Nelsen is a super-successful movie director who is used to getting what he wants. And what he wants now is to find the wife and infant child he dumped on the road to fame.

It's the kind of case that Cole could handle in his sleep, except that when Cole actually finds Nelsen's ex-wife, everything takes on nightmarish proportions - a nightmare that involves Cole with a nasty New York mob family and a psycho killer who is the son of the godfather.

And when the unpredictable Nelsen charges in, an explosive situation blows sky-high.

bit of a slow start but picks up really fast and turns into another great Cole and pike action book

Lacks the magnificent delivery of William Roberts

The story's good, but I found the narrator pretty uninspiring. His overly slow drawl meant I had to check I hadn't activated half-speed delivery. So it's difficult to recommend when compared to the others in the series narrated by Roberts.

Lullaby Town

Robert Crais, Lee Child and Michael Connolly are my three favourite authors. Robert Crais is such an underrated author and this is one his best books featuring Elvis Cole & Joe Pike. Nice story moving from Hollywood to the New York mafia. I’ve read this three or four times now and it still does the business. Fully recommended.

Elvis Cole

another good, easy story. Elvis and Pike are heroes once more. Robert Crais always pleases.

Not bad but not Brilliant

I read all the Elvis Cole novels in print and lived them. So far i have listened to two of the audio titles and something isn't clicking for me. I think having read the books I'd created a voice for both Cole and Pike in my own head and so haven't quite got used to the performance. I'll persevere though,.

Ok plot badly narrated

The narrative was annoying when they kept introducing different sounds e.g. For phone conversations. The story itself was entertaining, it kept your attention and you wanted to know what happened next but I didn't believe it would happen from an initial task of 'I want to find my ex wife'.
