Summary
Christopher Devon tries to make a new life and, after a bit of persuasion from his daughter, to meet a new woman. But how to find one? And how to placate a son who thinks you should never have split up in the first place?
Dr Devon is not the only man with woman trouble. Tiger Wilson has been married just a little too comfortably for 30 years, and Gary Flynn is a serial womaniser who refuses to settle down. But during one month in spring, they are all about to have their lives turned upside down, and not just by women.

Gentle and enjoyable book
I love Allan Titchmarsh's voice and enjoyed reading many of his books, but I'm not sure he has the range to convey the different characters voices and emotions with enough distinction.
This book was a great story, I enjoyed watching the characters develop. Allan always writes believable characters, and by the end of the stories I feel I have met them. This is no exception. I also liked the unusually dark aspect to the plot which was a constant undercurrent.

Great
Loved it, Alan has a very soothing voice. Story line was not too complex but enough to keep you guessing. At times quite emotional. A gentle book. It reminds me of black and white films on a Sunday afternoon, you just want to curl up on the sofa with a cup of tea and lose yourself for a couple of hours!

likeable, believable characters
Perhaps I'm the right age to best appreciate this novel; these could well be my own friends. I like the plot, and appreciate the character development. One of my all-time favorites, my first read by Titchmarsh. He can count me as a fan.

Entertaining and sweet
The story is an entertaining story of 3 old friends and their everyday life. There is a mystery that doesn't get too intense and a sweet love story. The characters are likeable and ever so polite! Easy to listen to and what's best is Alan Titchmarsh as the narrator. I love his voice and accent. He modulates his tone for every character so it's really well read and one doesn't get lost mixing them up.
