Summary
This book is inspired by true events but is not a biography.
The truth is My Truth is not The Truth, and that's as honest as I can be. It's partially true, rather than painfully true, and I have possibly been economical with the truth, Your Honour.
Basically, I made this sh*t up...
While James Blunt's crimes against music are well-documented, he also has some stories that are not. In Loosely Based On A Made-Up Story, James reveals his most riotous anecdotes to date for your amusement - and his parents' horror - in this highly anticipated non-memoir.
From his questionable Norfolk roots, eccentric family, boarding school antics, misjudged military service, rise to music stardom and tour escapades, James delves into his (surprisingly) fascinating life to date. What do you do when your mother writes irate emails to the future prime minister defending your honour? What does it take to run a male escort agency? And why exactly should you refrain from crowd-surfing? Find out here, folks...
Were the stories in this book grossly exaggerated in an attempt to impress? Maybe. But one thing is for certain: you won't want to miss it.

Funny,
Very funny. Laughs at himself, while revealing how vile the newspapers are, and how other musicians without reason took a dislike to him. Very humorous and honest (even though he claims it’s largely fictional!)

Funniest thing I’ve heard in ages!
Self deprecating, funny, and in places quite moving. If only some of the performers and press who knock him had half his personality! Not bad for a Tin.

Behind the Painted Smile
Its difficult to understand this guy, Obviously seriously upset at the obvious unfairness of how he is perceived as a performer by critics and many of his own peers he hides it behind cynical and ironic humour. But does he come across as “good bloke” which he wants people to believe , i think not . To me he probably has an arrogance that would make it easy for people to dislike and turn on him , and his capability of chucking people close to him under the bus , is not a great quality. I certainly wouldn’t want to go for a beer with someone like that .
Maybe he should release the Isley Bros number Behind the Painted Smile.
But hey James i suspect history will probably be kind to you , how many one hit wonders release 7 albums and sell over 20 million copies , so you are right to give it the middle finger , live your life and be happy , you have done far more than most !!!

What a story
True lies……..James narration just flows as it should seeing as he’s reading his own book 😂 however what a listen it is as you get absorbed in James’s journey through the highs the lows the naughty and the horny for me this is one of those audiobooks that keep you enthralled ever time you listen to it. 👏

Hilarious to the extreme, brilliantly told stories of a mad existence. Would recommend this book to everyone, fan or not.

Classic JB
Laugh out loud material and the self-depreciating manner make this great listening. Better than his twitter storm. Who cares whether any of it is true or not??

enjoyable
I liked the humour and humility. A very interesting character, the opposite to the way he has been portrayed. A talented, brave bloke.
