About this listen
A collection of spine-tingling short stories, including the sequel to the international best seller Let the Right One In.
Whatever happened to Oskar and Eli? And what became of the beleaguered families in Handling the Undead? Find out in Let the Old Dreams Die.
In other tales from this collection, a woman finds a dead body and decides to keep it for herself, a customs officer has a mysterious gift that enables her to see what others hide, and a man believes he knows how to deceive death.
These are the stories of John Ajvide Lindqvist's rich imagination. They are about love and death, and what we do when the two collide and the monsters emerge.

In short brilliant
Loved this book, genuinely surprised how much I enjoyed this. Addictive listening and cannot wait to read more from this author. Performance was also captivating.

Very weird and unreal though more strange than impossible
Let the old dreams die explores the weird and the fantastic. The unreal and the off the wall. The stories here collected are essentially fantasy played out by characters instantly recognizable who are not necessarily what they appear to be. There are animals, illusions and mythical beings in this book and some very odd circumstances which leave you wondering what really happened. It's a good collection for people who like to explore the realms outside normality and the unexpected. weird is what they are as I've said. Generally the narative is very good though one narator is not quite as good as the other two. All of them are told with feeling so taht you feel as if you are there. The stories are connected to one another in terms of location and all take place in Sweden as will be apparentl from the nationality of the author. Overall a good read for anyone who likes a short weird tale.

Not what I was expecting
I bought this title with the specific intention of finding out what happens after "Let the Right One in"
One of these stories does give some vague information and reference to the previous title, but nowhere near enough to satisfy my need to know, so don't buy this thinking that all will be explained, it isn't, and the fates and adventures of Oscar and Eli remain much of a mystery.
That being said, I enjoyed most of this book on its own merits, I'm not a huge fan of short story collections, and I found a couple of them pretty uninspiring, but on the whole - I enjoyed the book, and have no regrets in the purchase. I'll just have to let my imagination work with what happens to Oscar and Eli, until maybe a specific sequel is written 🤞

Nothing like Let the Right One in.
I bought this because I thought it was a sequel to Let the Right One in.
I don't normally criticise creativity, half the stories were okay,
I wouldn't have bought this if I'd known that the characters from the other book are mentioned just a couple of times.
sorry.
