Really useful!
I find this really useful for helping drill home grammar and vocabulary I’ve learned elsewhere and learning some new things as well (both about the language and culture). I like that there is structure to each lesson, but that part of that includes more informal conversations between the hosts, which give you natural conversation listening practice. These kind of dip in and out of English and the native English-speaking host does very well at naturally summarising the Japanese bits of conversation as well, so if there is vocabulary in there you don’t know, you can still understand what’s going on. All the hosts are very clear and easy to understand and I love the attention paid to the tonality of the language—not every book/app/course does this, but it’s
very important. The included pdf is very handy too. All in all, very impressed.
A previous reviewer complained that the level was too difficult. I can’t say how it compares to lower levels in the same series as I haven’t listened to them, but I do feel this is accurately labelled “lower intermediate”. If you haven’t learned cooking terminology yet, the first couple lessons might be quite a bit of vocabulary to learn, but I found them fun and, if cooking isn’t your thing, the audiobook quickly moves onto other subject matter anyway.
A shame the title seems to be leaving the Audible Plus Catalogue soon—might have to look up the original podcast next time I want to have a refresh of this content.

Inaccurate difficulty
I started this one just after finishing level 5. I was able to comprehend the level 5 most of the time, however, this one came way too difficult after that. Maybe because it starts with cooking recipes that require a whole set of new vocabulary? Anyway, I could not proceed further.
