Summary
As the only veterinarian at Oak Falls Animal Hospital, Dr. Kate's life is complicated. When winter storms hit the Hudson Valley, she's swamped with hospital patients and house calls, and her long-distance relationship with law student Luke Gianetti is precarious.
The discovery of the body of Sookie Overman, a professional organizer, gets the town buzzing, but Kate's too busy to take the case. She has her animals to take care of after all. But after a disastrous fight with Luke on New Year's Eve—he's jealous of a handsome artist who's taken with the young vet—and when the body of Sookie's assistant falls with the confetti at midnight, Kate realizes the only way she can have a fresh start in the new year is if she finds some resolution to the problems in the old one...

My New Favourite Series!
Absolutely wonderful next installment of life in Oak Falls.
No spoiler, but I made my Jack Russell jump by shouting, "Yes!! Go Little Man!!" at the end.
Eileen's books always have a good and satisfying ending, most important when one has invested many hours working towards the conclusion.

Great story
The last in this vet series- I’ve enjoyed them all. I found the animal focus really interesting. Good narration.

Stumped again
I truly enjoy this series and am looking forward to the next installment! All of the characters are interesting, human and animal. I’ve prided myself with past books in being able to figure out the killer midway through the story. Not with this author. My analysis begins within the first few pages! I love it.

Cute book!
I highly recommend this series if you enjoy murder mystery’s and pets . I look forward to more books in the series and hope that Kate stays in oak falls maybe taking over the practice for the doc . Can’t wait to see what happens next !

Delightful
I love dogs and found it very entertaining. My only objection is that she called her dog a King Charles Spaniel, and the correct name for the breed is Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

Loved it!
I have loved the whole series, and this book was as good as the others. I gave enjoyed Eileen Brady’s writing and hope she comes out with another book in the series soon.
