Summary

Thorne isn't ready to fall in love. His wife has been gone for only two years; he's still a grieving widower. Most days, he's not sure if he'll ever be ready to open his heart again. A simple, quiet existence with his beloved son, Mason, will have to be enough for him - and when it's not, he's got his friends in the Howling Hills pack to take up the slack.

Omega Logan is trying hard just to stay afloat. Not only has he just been made redundant at his job, his beloved Nan is quickly slipping away into the hereafter. When she passes, he will lose not only the last of his family but also the roof over his head. He's running out of options...until fate steps in, taking the form of a child's lost stuffed elephant.

Returning the stuffed animal to his owner gives Logan a sense of purpose - and a job. Thorne needs a manny to care for Mason during the day. Logan needs an income. That Thorne is the hottest alpha Logan has ever met doesn't even matter, because Thorne is obviously straight...isn't he?

When Logan's heat hits unexpectedly, the tentative feelings between the two men burst into something deeper - something richer. Fate has given Thorne a second chance at love and family...but with his heart on the line, will Thorne choose the specter of his past? Or a brighter, happier future?

Knot the Manny is a wolf shifter mpreg romance audio book with a guaranteed happily ever after. It is the third audio book in the Howling Hills Heat series, where finding your fated mate isn't just a dream - it's destiny.

Randi really does capture the emotion in Logan so well. You can tell that Randi really gets into these characters. It’s so refreshing. The storyline is fantastic and emotional. Highly recommend.

Mpreg HEA

Logan is an Omega who has just lost his job working with a student, his nan is losing her battle to live and has willed her house to charity so Logan will lose the house he has called home for most of his life. He finds a stuffed elephant and wants to find it's owner, who is 2 yr old Mason, whose mother died in childbirth and his alpha dad Thorne is looking for a manny to look after Mason. Fate steps in and brings with it a HEA. Randi did an amazing job narrating, but his best were young Mason and Nan.

Thorn saves Logan

Thorn is a widow. Logan comes in as the manny to take care of Mason. His boss is straight but they click. I really loved the elephant save and the cute way the narrator portrays the kids. The romance is also cute. Adorable actually.

All thanks to a little blue elephant

Second chance Love story. Thorne lost his mate, they had a young son Mason, on a chance encounter he meets Omega Logan who is in need of a job and a home, and finds so much more.
Randi Johnson did an absolutely amazing job narrating this story.

a good easy listen

I was gifted the audio file of this book.

This is book three in the Howling Hills series. I have not read or listened to the others, but I would like to, if only to get a better sense of this author, and the way he tells his tales.

Thorne is grieving still, after two years. His wife passed away giving birth to their son, Mason. He’s not looking for anything with anyone, but he needs someone to look after Mason while he works. Losing the blue stuffed elephant bought Logan into Thorne’s world. Logan needs a place to live, and a job. That Logan is an omega and Thorne an Alpha shouldn’t make much difference, should it? When Logan’s heat hits at the most inopportune time, all bets are off, and Thorne starts to question a great deal.

On the whole, I did enjoy this little tale of the manny falling in love with not only his charge, but also said charge’s daddy. It’s one of those books that slaps itself firmly and squarely on the “hang over” shelf. Both from a book induced one, and an alcohol induced one!

Logan falls fast and hard for Thorne, but Thorne takes a far longer and windy path to admit his feelings. He is riddled with guilt over his wife, and what he is beginning to feel for Logan, a MAN. It takes a two year child to make Thorne see he may have lost Logan, before he was ever his.

It’s not overly explicit, but then again, it doesn’t need to be. It’s only short and you can only cram so much in 150 pages, 4 hours 30 minutes, but what is here is right and proper for THIS book. There is no violence.

What I LIKED, very much, about this book, was while these guys are shifters, wolves to be exact, there is very little emphasis on that fact. Thorne refers to his wolf from time to time, and his pack, and he shifts all of 2 times in the book. I liked that the wolf parts of Thorne and Logan took a back seat to the emotions of Thorne and Logan. Really, really liked that!

Randi Johnson narrates.

This is the first of his work I have listened to. I did enjoy it, for the most part, like the book, there were just one or two little niggles, for me.

Ordinarily I will choose a male narrator because they have a deeper reading voice. I have a hearing loss that is specific to higher pitch speech tones, as women’s voices tend to be. This is a personal choice and I am in no way dissing the wonderful female narrators!

But Johnson’s ‘reading’ voice is quite high and it took some time for me to get used to it to properly enjoy his narration. It does mean, though, that NEXT time, I won’t have such a hard time getting used to his voice, cos I already have done.

Also, while Thorne and Logan’s voices are very different, the others who are given a voice tended to be very similar and I struggled to keep up in multi person conversations.

Still, not a bad job, just not a brilliant one. I have a couple of other of Johnson’s work to listen to after my current listen, so I haven’t written him off just yet.

3.5 stars for the story
4 stars for the narration
Rounding up to 4 stars overall
