Summary

Denizen Hardwick doesn't believe in magic - until he's ambushed by a monster created from shadows and sees it destroyed by sunlight. Now Denizen is about to discover that there's a world beyond the one he knows. A world of living darkness where an unseen enemy awaits.

Fortunately for humanity, between us and the shadows stand the Knights of the Borrowed Dark. Unfortunately for Denizen, he's one of them....

Critic reviews

"Like the Percy Jackson series, Hunger Games, or the Shiver Trilogy, Knights of the Borrowed Dark is dark, compelling, and builds an addictive universe of characters, high stakes, and evocative imagery." (Jeffrey Cranor, best-selling coauthor of Welcome to Night Vale)

Really enjoyable book by a really promising writer

Loved the story and characters. Best book I've read in years. Really looking forward to the next installment from Dave.

Amazing story, brilliantly read

I really loved this book - it’s very imaginative and unexpected. It’s very well-written, a little creepy, and edge-of-your-seat gripping. The characters are well-drawn, so you care about them. And the author does a brilliant job of reading the story himself.
