He works alongside the Kings of Men MC and is known, and hated, by the New Gothenburg PD for getting his clients cleared of charges that should have sent them to jail. I’ve had a crush on my brother’s best friend since the moment I laid eyes on him four years ago. Warner Ramsey is 225 pounds of pure hotness, a media darling, and one of the best NFL quarterbacks in the league. Hell, he’s the reason I figured out I’m solidly bi. It was easy to keep my crush under control when I was in college. Now, we play for the same team, and every time he talks smack, I want to shut him up. With my mouth.

My hockey image is one I've carefully cultivated, and after one night with Ezra Palaszczuk, I risk it all. He's cocky, obnoxious, and has an ego bigger than Massachusetts. Summary
The Undercover Assassin
Quain Beaumont is paid to kill people and he’s good at it. When he’s contracted, for a hefty sum, to protect a district attorney’s son in New Gothenburg, he can’t say no. However, he doesn’t expect Barber to be such an attractive pain in the ass. Complicating matters, Barber is part of the Kings of Men MC. He can’t risk a romantic attraction to a target, but Barber’s charm makes it hard not to fall into bed with him.
The Shit-Stirring Biker
There’s nothing more exciting to Luke “Barber” Booth than pulling pranks and causing problems. The reactions he gets out of people keep his days interesting, even if it sometimes results in fist fights with his club brothers. His next-door business neighbor is no different. Quain is uptight, so Barber takes pleasure in annoying him, which ensures nearly daily visits from Quain to the barber shop. Quain might be a whiny hairstylist, but he’s beautiful. Barber is only too happy to take a bite out of him.
An Attempted Murder and Confessions
When there’s an attempt on Barber’s life, Quain does what he’s been paid to do — protect him — but Barber’s uncle and cousin are kidnapped instead. In order to set things right, Quain must admit the truth to Barber about his undercover status and assignment. To Barber’s disgust, they need to work together to get his family back. By the end of this mess, it’s not only their lives at risk, but their hearts, too.

A great series, but I hated the narration
I have loved this series, and this book was so well written. The MC Barber (Luke) and Killer (Quain) are well described and have great lines that made me laugh. However, in my opinion, the narration for Quain let the whole book down. The tone, accent, everything about it made me cringe. I also have to turn the speed up to 1.35 on audible as he reads too slowly for my ears.
Saying that, I still listened until the end as I love the writers and the series, and yet again, they do not disappoint. Full of snark, violence, love and hot sex, what's not to love.

A different spin for Barber's story. Great thrill and twists. I love the family at it's core.

Dangerous shenanigans
Barber is a troublemaker who loves to get under peoples skin.
Quain is assigned to Barber because he's in danger.
Their initial animosity quickly turns to scorching passion.
There's plenty of danger, drama and action that kept me turning the pages.
The narration seemed a bit mechanical for my tastes.

Fun story
This is almost funny for being a biker story. Quain is the funny part. My problem is I didn’t feel the narrator was able to capture the character. Barber, being the biker, is a complex personality. How these characters ended up together an author could pull off. There is a snarkiness and clash of personalities that made the story enjoyable. I really enjoyed the relationship between Quain and KC. Even though I enjoyed the story but I don’t think this narrator is able to meant to narrate biker stories.

loved it
I loved this book. Andrew Ladd's voice really brings this story to life and makes you love the characters even more. Beaumont is a assassin and is sent to protect a district attorney's son. What Quain didn't know is Luke is a pain to deal with. Luke Booth (Barber) is a member of the Kings of Men MC. Barber is always pulling pranks and starting problems. Barber especially loves annoying the hairstylist next store to his barber business. Quain saves Barber one night. Quain has a secret he must tell Barber that might destroy what they have together. If he doesn't it could cost Barber the two people he cares about. Will they finally admit what they feel for each other or let the obstacles they face defeat their love?

Quain and Barber were hilarious and I loved the snarky relationship they had. I guess I didn’t really understand why everyone was upset with Quain when they found out why he was hanging around Barber. I am also intrigued by KC and Oliver. King's Barber
Quain thought that his latest job was going to be boring. Guarding a biker bad boy while undercover. As an assassin this is a pretty tame job for Quain until Barber gets under his skin and the threat to Barber comes calling. What will happen when the truth comes out?
I enjoyed Barber and Quian’s story. Both men have big personalities yet the two are good together. Each man learns the hard way about emotions and what they can do to you. Walls around their hearts crumble but the truth hurts. I loved seeing the two men fight their way to a relationship and it was nice to see the interaction between them. Their story moves at a good pace and pulls you right in. Narrator Andrew Ladd brings the emotions out in the characters, but I was not that fond of the voices used for the characters.

Good story
Luke is a barber (hence his nickname). Quain is an assassin. His latest job is bodyguarding a pain in the butt, endearing, gruff, motorcycle riding, playful barber. I liked their give and take. Snark was off the charts, as was the sexual relationship.
I haven’t read (or listened) to any other books in the series but I didn't feel lost. There are a lot of characters and relationships to navigate though. KC definitely needs his own story.
This is one book I should of read before listening to the audio. I felt that maybe this was the wrong narrator for this story.

The Troublemakers Protector
Barber loves to stir up trouble. The troublemaker of the Kings MC, he loves to get a laugh out of people.
His next door shop neighbor is one such person and Quain is someone Barber cannot stop messing with.
But, when things get dicey and Barber gets into some trouble, it's then when Quains true identity shines.
An action packed story, full with secrets, mystery, drama, sexy chemistry, the Kings MC and a great ending.
The narrarion was what let this down for me. Mr Ladd just didn't connect well with characters in my opinion and it took alot to get to the end of this one.

I really loved this. Barber was hilarious and his obsession with Quain was entertaining. Their chemistry was HOT and I enjoyed it. I'm really glad I got to read the ebook first before listening to the audio version. I'm not sure the narrator was a good fit for this one...his voice for Quain was awful and Barber...smh...not so good. Because I loved this story so much I got through the entire session.

fantstic story!
First of all... I LOVED this story, I think it might be my favorite yet in the series! Quain is an assassin that’s been hired to protect Barber. Barber is a member of a MC club. Barber is a troublemaker, loves to stir the pot. He also is insanely attracted to Quain who he thinks is a hairstylist and owner of the salon next his barber shop. I freakin loved these two, they were hot and steamy, off the charts fire together! The tension rolled, sooo good!! This was my first narration by Andrew Ladd. He did a good job but at times I felt his voice didn't fit the character.
