Summary
Landon
My life is as good as it bloody gets. I may be an Englishman, but I'm living the American dream. In Vegas I f - k who I want, when I want, and how I want. Unfortunately, my father needs to pass on the family business and doesn't think sleeping around gives me the credentials I need. I've got one week to convince him and the rest of my old-school English family that I've changed my wild ways and settled down with a "proper" girl. The problem? Claire's hiding something. Which seriously complicates things. She's supposed to help me get what I want...but my fake fiancée might just ruin it all.
Claire
Meeting Landon could be the best thing that's ever happened to me...or the worst. He's the only man I've considered sleeping with in years...which says a helluva lot. Mostly that I'm horny as heck, but also that Landon makes me feel sexy...beautiful...wanted. Things I never thought I'd feel. Not to mention he's richer than God. Or will be if I can help him for just one week, convincing his family that we're in love and not just scheming to help him inherit the family business. If the plan works, he'll pay me a quarter of a million dollars. But if he finds out who I really am, he'll call off our deal. And I can't let that happen. Not just because I desperately need the money...but because the time I spend with him makes me believe that true love might be real after all.
But Landon is a player. And I can't bear to have my heart broken. So I'm all in with the plan...but terrified that I'm about to make the biggest mistake of my life - falling in love with a man who can't be trusted.
This book is not your mama's Harlequin. Landon is a bad boy who knows what he wants, and he'll get it. And sweetcheeks, you'll love being along for the ride. In fact by the time you're done with it, you'll want to ride something yourself. Just sayin'. XO, Frankie.

THE BAD BOY KING WOOED & WON HIS QUEEN
Claire and Landon dance together at Emmy and Ace's wedding but, just as things are hotting up when they move to Landon's hotel suite, they get interrupted and have to pause their pleasures.. however this has started their sizzling chemistry and mutual attraction for one another. For some time 27 yr old sexy Player Landon has been getting pressure to go back home to England and he's determined not to let his brother Geoffrey take over running their family's multi-million pound jewellery business. So, when Landon decides it's time to go back to England, he gets the brilliant idea of paying 24 yr old Claire to travel with him and pretend to be his fiancée to a) get his parent's approval and thus b) be appointed the next head honcho. Landon thought it was a good plan.. but, once they arrive at the family's ancestral castle, things soon start to unravel because his feelings for Claire quickly turn into unrequited love, he finds out Claire has been hiding secrets and she isn't the only person hiding secrets from him.. and when they're all eventually spilled the fallout will be life changing.
Cocktail Waitress Claire has a five year old daughter but nobody knows - not even her two best friends Emmy and Tess and Claire has got other skeletons in her closet too that she has never shared with anybody other than her Mother. So, when Landon offers her $250,000 to be his fake fiancée for a couple of weeks, Claire thinks what that amount of money could do for her and her daughter. But before they left Landon did warn her that his brother was ruthless and would dig up any dirt she had in her past.. but Claire didn't take any notice of his warning. And soon Claire would regret her naivety, regret lying, regret not sharing her secrets.. and regret hurting the man she'd come to love.
A good second book in the series, Landon was sexy and sweet but, due to events in her past, Claire had erected some very high impenetrable walls around her life and her heart keeping everyone out. She had trust issues and it took Landon some time, and help from their very supportive friends, to finally convince and prove to Claire that he could be a safe haven for her and her daughter's love. Unfortunately Claire's secrets were found out rather than freely divulged which caused tension, tears and heartache. Dual POV storyline with lots of sexy times.. plus angst, secrets, family drama, good secondary characters and some stellar narration.. especially by Joe Arden and his English accent was simply outstanding.
Worth a credit? Yes.. but it was under $10 so yet again I just bought it and saved my credit for a higher priced book.

All Hail The King!
Well, this was an entertaining story filled with secrets on top of secrets, and a few lies to boot. While some books with plots revolving around character's having secrets can be slightly predictable, especially if the listener is aware of the secrets early on in the story, but I loved how Frankie kept the listener in suspense wondering when, and how the truth would be revealed.
Landon concocted a plan to impress, and prove to his father he was stable, mature and more capable than his brother to take over the family business. To help execute his plan, he enlisted the help of Claire to play the part of his fiancée, and pretend they have been dating, fell in love, and are ready to tie the knot. She's the perfect candidate, she smart, leveled headed, and keeps her cool. The more time they play pretend, the steamier it gets, and he starts to develop real feelings, and wants to be the man Claire deserves. Claire has been keeping secrets from her new friends, as well as Landon, but when he offers her a chance to earn some serious cash to be his pretend fiancée for a week, all she thinks about is what the money could do for her. But here's the thing about keeping secrets, they always find away to be discovered, and at the most inconvenient of times, and her skeletons won't stay in the closet forever. Her secrets will either bring them closer together or cost her a big payday.
Joe and Maxine really delivered an incredible performance! I LOVED Joe's English accent, it really showcases his talent as a narrator. Maxine always does a wonderful job with all the emotions, you could feel the anxiety, fear, and concern Claire's character had regarding her closely held secrets. Kudos for a job well done!
King was an excellent addition, and I can't wait for the rest of the "small straight" to be released in audio (Ace, King, McQueen, and Jack.....clever Frankie!) Credit or Sale; it's worth it!

So Many Secrets and Lies
Okay, so I loved this story but I have one question, how can you love someone when you don't trust them enough to tell them the most important parts of your life? That sums up the relationship between Landon and Claire. Claire is a tough nut to crack in this book, where she was the loyal friend in Aces she is quite the mystery here. Neither her friends nor her lover knew about her life at home and this made for a very intriguing story. All of Claire's secrets made for some pretty interesting plot twists. Frankie Love wrote another compelling story. Can't wait for McQueen and Jack to be released.
Is Joe Arden British or does he just sound like that to these neophyte ears of mine. He did an amazing job narrating as Landon and his British family members. Maxine Mitchell delivered another stellar performance. These two are good duo for this series.
Absolutely worth the credit. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

Loved Landon
I didn't realize how much I would enjoy Joe Arden doing a British accent. I was a little surprised to see him as the narrator in this book but he was flawless and as always Maxine Mitchell was incredible. In fact, I think I liked this book better than the first one. There was just something about Landon wanting to please his family and prove that he’s more than just a bad boy that made him an endearing character.
