The usual strong characters and good plotting - but not quite the appeal of some of the others in series.

Words cannot express just how much I enjoyed this book, I think that of pretty much every book in this series but they do keep getting better and better, there is NO stopping Mr Gatland it seems, thank goodness for that I say.

This was not a good story! Hard to follow and stupid behaviour by main character!!Has put me off following thru with series! Previous book , were he allowed his daughter to work on murder squad was bad enough but this one was tedious! Narration as always was excellent

Stupid story

I’ve really enjoyed the series up until now. I like the main characters, the plot line running through the series was so interesting first time around, not so interesting second and third times. I feel the author comes across a subject that really interests him, thoroughly researches it, manages to shoehorn it into a new book and then reverts back to the overarching plot, which isn’t really going anywhere. I mean, how many times can Declan get arrested for murder? The set up for his arrest this time was so obvious, but he didn’t see it coming, even though we’ve constantly been told he’s a genius detective. So I’m sadly saying goodbye to this series. However, I’m pleased to say the narration was up to the usual gold standard.
