About this listen
Killing Me Softly, by the acclaimed and bestselling author Nicci French, is a terrifying journey into the heart of obsession . . . You have everything. But you give it up for an affair. You're in passionate love. And grave danger…
Alice Loudon couldn't resist abandoning her old, safe life for a wild affair. And in Adam Tallis, a rugged mountaineer with a murky past, she finds a man who can teach her things about herself that she never even suspected. But sexual obsession has its dark side - and so does Adam. Soon both are threatening all that Alice has left. First her sanity. Then her life.

Nothing much all a bit “self indulgent “
It was very slow to get off the ground and not a particularly believable story line. I did listen to the end but not one of her best.

Disappointing
I found this book rather tedious. I usually love Nicci French books but this one was too slow for me.

A fatal love story
This is at once a tragic love story, and a murderous rampage. As one of my favourite authors, Nicci French has done it again. A riveting story of one man's passion, and intent on murder when the passion tries to leave him.

First class thriller
Intense complex characters and plot. Shows how fine a line there is between being totally in love/lust with someone and being something else entirely.
If you've ever been so in love that you have shut people out of your life to be joined at the hip to each other, you should read this book and try and answer the questions the story poses.

I have not read anything by Nicci French before and really enjoyed this. Kept me guessing to the end, i would recommend this author and look forward to reading other books by her.

It was just okay!
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, its just a bit blah!
Has Killing Me Softly put you off other books in this genre?
No, I love this genre. This book was just not that good.
What does Lisa Coleman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Lisa Coleman's narration was excellent and carried the audio book. I doubt I would have continued to the end if I had been reading it, rather than listening to her tell me the story.
Any additional comments?
If I am not enjoying a book, I just stop reading or listening. I continued to the end here. The narration really helped, but the book itself had something that kept me interested. However, it was just okay. The premise was very good. There was just something a bit bland about the writing. Also, there were two styles of writing in there, showing it had been written by two people (Nicci French is of course a couple). I had heard great things about these authors. This was my first book by them. I downloaded this and another when they are on special offer. I hope the other one is better than this. Overall, disapointing.

bizarre!
well, the "sexy" times were very peculiar!! I am not sure how someone would find the main guy attractive, he seemed like a sx pest, but it's fiction so if you let that go and all the ridiculous idea of intense love (based on lust or something and possession) then it's a fun enough story. I found my eyebrows running around my face quite a lot at the misguided almost teenage idea of love and passion. but engaging enough, if it's free I would give it a go and just look past the ridiculous romance ideas to a good enough thriller of mild intrigue and limited repercussions. Probably would not spend a credit on it, especially now I can't buy 3 for £18... why did they remove that?
