Summary
In this incredible sequel to Pandora's Star, the Commonwealth Saga goes out with a bang. Judas Unchained is a stunning, expansive space opera from one of the world's bestselling science fiction writers, Peter F. Hamilton.
Our worlds are under invasion – and only the impossible can save us now . . .
Over hundreds of years, the human race has been manipulated into starting a war. And it's one that could destroy our entire civilization. Chief Investigator Paula Myo is nominated to hunt the creature behind this ploy, while our invasion continues and multiple worlds fall to the enemy. In response, Admiral Kime commands humanity's defense, marshaling war-ready super-weapons. Yet he discovers his adversaries wield equally powerful armaments.
The question is – where did these come from? Has the Commonwealth's top-secret defense project been compromised, or is the truth even worse than we can imagine?
The Commonwealth Saga duology starts with Pandora's Star.

Great story. Bad sound quality.
This is a great book. Just like the one the preceded it If not better. I like this narrator and would continue to listen to these books through him. **Just be warned that the quality of this recording is terrible. Not what I expect from audible. It’s very soft so you have to make it very loud. It also sounds like there was quiet a lot of post editing. Narration volume changes. Sometimes even sounding like a different person or the narrator having a bad cold.

this its one heck of an epic
author does well to alternate between strategic and deep. wide ranging story and plot descriptions mixed with following lots of individuals.
I only really understood who everyone was halfway through the second book, the cast is a bit too large to keep track of without a diagram to be honest.
this is a great story, not an easy read but when you can focus on it the story is compelling. good for when you don't want to spend a credit next month because this is a 2 month listen

Excellent Conclusion
Picks up from Pandora’s Star and relentlessly drives to the finish. This was my second read through and I picked up more of the hidden plot this time. A well written and tightly plotted story.

Brilliant
A brilliant branched story line continuing from the previous title in the series. It all comes together in a very satisfying ending.

A nice follow on to Pandora's star
The plot continues the story in Pandora's star and follows the various characters in uncovering one of the greatest conspiracies of the time.
Don't want to spoil anything at all for anyone interested in listening to this book. One word: Wow! Peter Hamilton is one of the best (if not the best) sci-fi writers of our time and I've just downloaded his next installment. I hope it lives up to these two books!

kind of a must if one knows the first book
After reading Pandora Star this is kind of a must to know how everything ends.
Suffers a little from inconsistent recoding with the cuts being clearly audible in the recording, and voices switching throughout.

Beginning to end never a dull moment. But don't be tempted to start here... pick up book one "Pandora's Star" first and to really get acquainted with Peter Hamilton's Commonwealth of Planets. For those that have read it. ..... need I say more than download now! Morning Light Mountain awaits.

Best Epic SciFi I have read/listened to.
Where does Judas Unchained rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Carries on where the first part abruptly left off. I normally listen at 1.25X but had to slow to standard speed to ensure I missed nothing for this one. This is real SciFi at its best. The finale was not totally to my liking but at 9/10, it was pretty damned good.I will not miss too much the "dreaming heavens" quote but can I live without any more "enzyme bonded concrete" ?Highly recommended and you certainly get a lot for your credits. I now have a backlog of titles to catch up on.
What did you like best about this story?
The cast is huge and the intertwined story lines emmersive.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It had me totally immersed at times, making me consider aspects and plots when "outside" of the listening experience.
Any additional comments?
This will be hard to beat.Time to leave SciFi alone for a while.

great story, well read, tho with issues
great use of the genre to explore a wide range of personal and societal issues. mr Lee's narration generally good, tho voices and characters hard to differentiate at times.
