Summary

Johnny Maxwell and his friends have to do something when they find Mrs Tachyon, the local bag lady, semi-conscious in an alley...as long as it's not the kiss of life. But there's more to Mrs Tachyon than a squeaky trolley and a bunch of dubious black bags. Somehow she holds the key to different times, different ears: including the Blackbury Blitz in 1941. Suddenly, now isn't the safe place Johnny once thought it was as he finds himself caught up more and more with then.

Light hearted

Just another of Sir Pratchetts wonderful outlooks on life, taking on the enormous task of time-travel and a world torn by war, and giving it a squeaky red nose as only Pratchett can. Again, the dependable Tony Robinson makes the whole thing complete.

Brilliant, unique story. Not all that long.

Perfect narration by Tony Robinson. Really original story. Just the four stars though as I'd thought I were getting a whole novel, rather than just the three chapters. Still, enjoyed a lot. Thought provoking.

Stands the test of time

Listened to this as a child and still love it. By far the best of the Johnny Maxwell series.
