Summary
'A great comedian and an extraordinary life' - Billy Connolly
'Properly laugh-out-loud funny' - The Times
Janey was a determined fighter all her life, from her tough Glasgow childhood to becoming a national treasure. Time and again she needed her strength to survive life's hardest moments. She needed it as a sweary-mouthed woman in the male-dominated comedy clubs of the 1990s. And she needed it when she brought a case against the uncle who'd abused her as a child. A terrifying ordeal - but she won.
From rocky beginnings, Janey started to gain big audiences at home and internationally. Awards rolled in for her acting and writing too. She was at her height, and with a soaring online following for her hilarious political voice-overs, when in 2021 hurtful, historic tweets were unearthed which shook her to the core. In the eye of the media storm, her spirit was nearly broken, but her fanbase stayed strong.
At the end of the long sell-out tour which followed she received the devastating news she had ovarian cancer. Her future hung in the balance, but even in treatment, a new tour went ahead, called Not Dead Yet.
Inspiring, funny, open-hearted, Janey celebrates everything this hilarious and defiant woman was - against the odds - and confirms just why we will never forget her.

Honest, real and humbling
Having listened to Janey's 2 other titles I have been waiting patiently for this to drop and have not been disappointed. A story of courage, determination and what life has to throw at us, told with honesty and the humour we have come to expect from Janey. Thank you, Janey for showing that our circumstances do not define us. Much respect and love x

Loved every moment. Did not want it to end
What an amazing woman. She told her story warts and all. Nothing held back.i listend while on holiday and was engaged from the start . Janey has surrounded herself with loving friends and family . What she gives out she gets back and has managed to mute the trolls online by her continued success and doing what is suggested by her doctors regarding her health issues. Loved her biography and her commentary

Janey at her best.
I loved this book. Janey is so honest about everything. You can feel her love for her family and friends coming through. Your emotions are all over the place, you’re crying with her with what she is enduring, then crying with laughter- definitely a lol book, even although some of the content shouldn’t be funny! Janey does it so well with her stories of life. Well done Janey. Another fantastic read.

Janey at her best
Had me laughing and crying in equal spades. Janey tells her story as it is, warts and all. Having gone through cancer myself, I identified with her feelings of panic and impending doom. before surgery. I would recommend this book 100%.

The Reality of it all
Interesting and honest account of life, love, death and everything in-between. A strong story from a strong woman. Letting us know that it's ok to feel sad, frustrated and Scunnered with your situation. It's ok to admit you're not ok and how there is no shame in admitting it or asking for help. A story of joy and love as well as sadness. A awesome evaluation of a interesting life story. Janey shows us that there is always another chapter in life. It may be good, bad or ugly. But it's conclusion is ours to work with, change, embrace or mould. Simply put it's a story of life. As a fellow 'Scot' I wish there was a 'Glesga' slang/speak version of the audio book. Simply because some words just don't feel right spelt correctly and pronunciated properly 😂
Well done pal, aw eh best x

Heartwarming and Heartwrenching
I really enjoyed listening to this. Her way with words and ability to make folk laugh and get us through tough times was second to none. This insight into her career and cancer journey was fascinating.
RIP Janey.
