A must read for Christians
Heather writes so beautifully the most useful content. It is clear in every chapter how much she cares about helping the reader improve their lives and connect with God and themselves. Solid conservative values in a progressive language and examples. Insightful and beautiful.

Inspiration while in the waiting room
I have been excitedly waiting for this book since hearing about it on a podcast. This book provides clear guidance on how to use time differently, to avoid the bitterness and disappointment that can occur when we are struggling to understand delay or denial of our longed for dreams. The use of the Bible, research, real life illustrations and questions to apply the ideas to our situation makes this a game changer. I am a Christian therapist and I have been waiting for a book like this for me and my clients. Heather shared so we can all grow and I am so grateful.

Ehhh
I appreciated the authors general message and encouragement. However, I skipped through many of the social injustice messaging that is throughout the book (George Floyd, the situation of the border, etc)
At some point and then one of the later chapters the author mentioned something about a publisher looking for writers that were not staunch conservative but were Christian. that really stood out for me because throughout the book there was this heavy tone of nice liberalism and it was rather weird because I generally consider myself an independent or a moderate, definitely not a staunch conservative Christian. Whoever reads this book, understand that it is heavy with social justice references and that made me put the book down several times only to pick it back up when I was bored or on a long drive with nothing else to listen to. Based on this book, I’m hesitant to read anything else that I have saved in my wishlist by this author.

Full of Gems
As much as we don’t ever want to hear that it’s not our turn, and that we have to wait- Heather Thompson Day explains the ways that God uses this waiting time for our benefit and blessing. It’s almost as if she were directly speaking to me and my circumstances. The stories she shares are very relatable, and helpful. I will be reading it again- this time with a pen and paper to jot down the many gems I want to remind myself of as I wait for my turn.

Humbling but necessary
I sincerely did not want to read this book, it’s not been “my turn” for a while. But I’m in a better place for sticking with it. Now I need to go back and soak it up. Grateful for the author’s work.

An interesting listen
This book definitely challenged my faith in more than one way.
I wish when referencing social justice issues in the us the statements were more soundly based in facts, but her point was still made.
I did like how she talked about her relationship with God and how she found his love and how it’s our purpose to love. She gives a lot of sound advice on what to do in the waiting and realizing that God has a plan and we can work on our patience muscle

What a powerful encouraging book!
This book is so amazing! This is my second time listening through and I cannot say it enough - this book can reach many people in many different phases in life.
For the millennial who turns on social media and feels left behind. For the struggling Christian, or the discouraged stay at home or working mom. THIS IS A BOOK FOR ALL!

Profound in the Simplest Ways
What Heather has written in this book automatically makes sense to me in retrospect. In my lowest moments of it not being my turn, I’ve tried to grasp at the things she’s written. But I just didn’t have the capacity to understand or formulate them for myself. But soon after starting the book, I realized that Heather had shown up to do the heavy lifting. Incredibly grateful for that.
The amount of healing I’ve found in this book is actually overwhelming.
I hope I never stop learning from Heather. From sitting in her classroom pre-Covid to reading this book, I am so proud of my former professor. Thank you Heather for partnering with me on a journey you didn’t even know I was on.
Now, let me go restart this audio from the top. 🏃🏽♀️
