Summary
Marry - or else.
Navy SEAL Brian Lake is out of luck. Going rogue on his last mission landed him on a fast track out of the Navy - years too soon to have saved up enough money to buy the ranch he's always wanted. Without a career - or the cash to start over - Brian's options are few, until Army general Augustus Reed steps in with an intriguing new mission - a permanent one.
Ignored by her absentee father, duped by thief he appointed to oversee her family's ranch, Cass Reed is done with men for good. From now on she's determined to run Two Willows herself, so when her father sends a Navy SEAL to fix up her house, she vows to run him off her land as soon as possible. But Brian's just as determined to stay, and he's in a far different league then the men she's met before.
Brian's ready to do anything that will earn him a share of a prosperous ranch - even take a chance on marrying the General's daughter. And he soon realizes it won't be a hardship to marry Cass. She's everything he's ever dreamed of in a woman - and Two Willows is everything he wanted in a ranch. But he's not the only one who wants Two Willows - and Cass. Will falling in love be the most dangerous mission of all?

A plot with real villans
How much trouble can five sisters get into. As it turns out plenty. This novel is the first of five. Although they are all written, the second is coming on December 26th. I really like the first book as it focused on plot with real villains. The portrayal of the General an the military lacked significant authenticity. Other than that, I though Seton did a fine job with the novel.
There are a number of unanswered questions, some mysticism thrown around, but all in all not too much. King does a good job with narration. I hope audible will put up books 3 thru five. I say, give this series a chance.

Encased In A Military Mission
Narration was rather dry!
An absentee father who happens to be a powerful general decides it's time to get his 5 daughters hitched. So he chooses some military men for them and encases it in a mission. First up, the eldest, Cass and Navy Seal Brian. Brian's definitely a keeper!! He steps right up, steps right in, honest and direct to Cass who he's there for. He helps fix up the ranch, uncovers a dangerous plot that the sisters help him foil. There's lots of laughs, lots of tears....glad it's a series. Because I'm about to start the 2nd one. Much enjoyed!!

Love a Navy Seal!
This story line reminds me of the musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers starring Howard Keel and Jane Powell in 1954, and I loved that old fashioned movie! But back to this version of romance. Narrator Wendy Tremont King is by far my favorite, so glad she is narrating this series. Enjoyed the story, can't wait to listen to the next book!

Exiting story
I enjoyed this story very much, it had suspense, sweet romance, a little superstition and strong women.
Good storyline that progresses nicely although a tiny bit slow (but that’s because I’m impatient)
I always liked good family stories and this series has potential to be that from my experience with this first book. I look forward to listening to the next.
The characters is well written and developed in to characters I can sympathise with.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of good dialogues.
Narrator:
Clear pronunciation and read with feelings. Not my favourite but good enough.

i thought it was a really cool book...
I thought it was a really cool book. i was annoyed woth the reduntant comments about not trusting men, though due to their fathers abandonment, i got it..Otherwise... there was some full on scheming going on their and the dad is a caring, in his own type of way, A hole. He cares for his girls but it seems to be in an arms length type of thing and he'd rather live in misery and go to war somewhere, then to go to "war" at home. Though i do think these soldiers are being sent on their 'last" mission, to give the girls what they need, what he failed to give them aa children and to pave the way for him later through forgiveness.

Narration poor
Couldn't get past the voice and slow, boring pace of the narrator. Didn't finish & will skip this series as all the books have same narrator. Too bad, enjoyed other books by this author.
