Summary
Help his friend go home.
Just because Gavin's goal is simple, doesn't mean it's easy!
His friend's home is Vushaar, the world's oldest monarchy and a land fractured by civil war. Slaver parties roam the countryside at will, claiming any they desire for their vile trade, and a great army lays siege to the capital.
Many question if Vushaar will survive, so what does that mean for Gavin and his friends?
Ties of friendship from two directions compel Gavin to enter this war-torn land, but will he succeed in returning his friend home safe and sound?

What a great follow up!
As if it couldn't get any better. The story continues and lays the ground work the next book. A truly unique story. I find myself eager for the next instalment in the series.
As I was reading\listening a thought came to me. This author is like a dealer, he hooks you on the story and makes you feel you're addicted and you're jonesing for fix!
The narrator brings the story to life! When I listen I hear what I read. Sounds a bit funny but I say that as a compliment to the narrator. Well done!

loved it!
Time flies when you really enjoy a book, I loved every minute. I feel the story is just beginning to take shape, connections are forming, allies gathering and the story is expanding. I felt the book was much too short but good, looking forward to next one.

I'm enjoying the series.
That being said, I can't stand how you make all of them almost immediate bullies and pass up chances to add more depth and character to the story. "Move or die." -No movement- "If he doesn't kill you, I will." This is so two dimensional and just lazy. I understand emotions are high at times but still, use a little more effort. I know I'm not being kind but having them act this way makes me not want to support them. As bad as Gavin can be in his choices, I still want to pull for him except in moments like this. I hope you're not placing your item anger into the characters of your books. Flannery O'Conner did this and it's why her writing was always full of bitterness, so much so that it was almost palpable.

It's ok
I gave it a poor rating mainly because the last two books are not available to me, because they are on a region-locked Google service. I would buy the last the books if I could.
Having said that, the books are not a masterpiece. They suffer from the same faults that all Superman stories do. The main character is almost god-like and can fix most situations with a spoken word. We are also told again and again how people react to his name, reputation et cetera ad nauseam. It is just like a superman show. I still enjoy Superman though. Just temper your expectations.
The narrator is good.
