Summary

Hart Ducaine was the love of Kate Miller's life, but he hadn't been interested in a long-term relationship with her 15 years before. So why should she trust him now? There is no way he will ever be her knight in shining...she can't remember the word...knight in shining whatever!

A professional bull rider turned rancher, Hart only has eyes for Kate, but she is one sassy piece of baggage - even more so than back when she was a teenager and she'd first caught his eye.

Trust is hard to regain once it's been broken, and neither of them are willing to take chances with matters of the heart - not anymore. And then Kate's Cajun grandmother, Maw Maw, and some of her other relatives set a plan into motion to abandon the two on a primitive island in the bayou. No cell phones. No electricity. No running water. And no one to talk to except each other.

Will they figure out what Maw Maw already knows: that fate is drawing them together and they need to learn to trust their hearts?

In shining whatever

Loved, loved, loved it!!!! Carolyn Brown writes the best feel good books. I love all the characters but I think I love the grandparents most. Loved maw maw and her voodoo meddling. Loved the way their families loved them. Loved the setting. Loved it all!

80's Ladies - 2nd Lady

Katie, the borderline fool, was! She was. didn't really like this one. She was, too, aggressive and he seemed tired of her. I felt he should have. The premise of the story was good but the rest seemed to drag on and on. Narrator was good. Glad it ended well.

Entertaining

This story was interesting to me wasn't quite what I thought it would be. Caroline Brown usually is very happy-go-lucky not that this wasn't it just had a little more fight the couple had to fight to get together a little bit more, Something I don't think I'm used to the Caroline Brown. Not that it was a bad thing it was still a good story I enjoyed it Narrator did an excellent job.

I enjoyed this story about a couple that has a rocky history but find a way after a lot of family interference, to make a life together. I recommend that you read or listen to this story, you will have many laughs and enjoyment.

Good down home love

I did get tired of Kate being a bitch. It went on too long and she was so abusive to Hart. Best narrator! Good Cajun drawl.

First CB book i did not love

In shining whatever is probably the 15th or 20th Carolyn Brown book I have read and the first I did not love. Kate was extremely unlikable. I found myself wishing Fancy would come back into the story and stay. While reading a forever thing, I found myself not liking Kate and it just continued through her story. She’s just such a sarcastic harsh character. Anyway I look forward to reading Sophie’s story because she seems to be more like fancy and I will root for her.

Good but not great

I did enjoy this, but didn't think it was fantastic. She is a favorite author of mine. I enjoyed book one of Three Magic Words better than this one. I'll still try book 3

In Shining Whatever

In Shining Whatever Book 2 in the series. I found it utterly a waste of time. Kate was like a spoilt child. Why Hart bothered about her I do not know. I skipped through most of it as it was just repetitive and boring. I enjoyed Book 1 that was a great read but this one was a no.

In Shining Whatever

I liked this one better than the first of the series. Nice and cheesy always melts my heart. Brittany Pressley has such a great voice for audio books - but I especially love her Louisiana accent. I could listen to that all day long!
Kate Miller is a tough woman. She doesn't put up with any crap. She also gets really mean when she is hungry, which I found hilarious because I can relate to those feelings. Her long-lost love, Hart Ducaine is back in her life and he is very much the same as she is, stubborn and bull-headed.
It was a fun, light read and I love Kate's Cajun grandmother, Maw Maw. Carolyn Brown didn't disappoint me with these characters.
