It’s the end of the world. Who said you can’t fall in love?

Ren Dyer is at the pinnacle of her career. Newly appointed as head of the protection team for Home Secretary Andrea Fielding, she is a woman focused only on her job.

Andrea Fielding is a woman who is looking for love and finding it in all the wrong places. When the worst happens, and the world changes dramatically around them, will Andrea finally see what's been right in front of her all along?

On the road, together with a group of people that includes Andrea's ex, Dutch Foreign Minister Marja Stegenga, they must try to reach the safety of HQ at the other end of the country.

For Ren Dyer, it is simple: keep her safe. For Andrea Fielding, it's anything but...

As protocols shift and rules go out the window, will Ren see there is more to life than work, and will Andrea finally find the love she is searching for?

Looking forward to part 2

Romance couched in an interesting and unusual tale made the occasional cliché and dodgy accent irrelevant. Loved it!

Brilliant and scarily apt.

Totally awesome survivalists, facing adversity as a team with a badass romance thrown in the mix. Really superbly written. Can't wait for the next one 😃

Sense of adventure

Thoroughly enjoyable read, good pace where the narrative took you into the sense of disaster and the journey towards hope

a new twist on the apocalypse.

I read straight through on first reading. an interesting take on a post apocalyptic fight for survival in the UK.

Fine, but not my cup of tea

It's not a bad story, and it's told quite well. However, for me, it lacked a touch of realism, and it does have a few reasonably explicit sex scenes (I usually prefer a "fade to black"). So my personal rating is probably on the low side of those that review.

The narrator does a very good job.
