Summary

Ignite the Fire: Incendiary struck a match; Ignite the Fire: Inferno brings a firestorm!

Cassie Palmer, once a down on her luck clairvoyant and now the chief seer of the supernatural world, is in the fight of her life. While on a rescue mission in Faerie, she is kidnapped by a king of the fey named Aeslinn. He is her sworn enemy and has every reason to want to kill her, yet instead he offers a trade: her life for that of her lover, John Pritkin.

Cassie doesn't know what the king's game is, only that it involves his alliance with Zeus, the head of the ancient pantheon who used to rule all of Earth and who is determined to do so again. In order to save her lover, and the world, she has to figure out what Zeus and his royal puppet are up to. She also has to stop them, even if it means taking on the king of the gods himself.

2nd installment

another roller coaster...I did enjoy it but felt a bit confused at times .
It didn't feel like the other books.
Cassie was on her own for the majority of the time in this book , I missed the usual characters being with her all the way and I missed Billy too . I didn't enjoy the narration but I did get used to it in the end . it was certainly action packed but I think I will have to listen to book 11and 12 again. I am currently reading from the beginning again . The series is certainly worth the money as I have read and re-read the series several times.
My books are well worn ....I have bought the Kindle version too and now I am collecting the audio books as they become available if that isn't a recommendation I don't know what is .
😁

Turn the Play Speed Up

It's a fun series and well written, but the reader, when she's not doing voices is a bit slow and monotonous. I wish I'd discovered it sooner, but I sped the rate up to 1.20 and it was a whole lot better. I does nothing about mispronounced words, but it's better.

Narrator ruins the book.

I could not listen to this narrator for more than 10 minutes. She has a disturbing Cadence to her voice and something about her tone hurts my ears. I’m very sad to say I can’t listen to this book. We need the previous narrator back. I will be returning.

narrator is probably the worst I've ever heard.

so in the last book for some reason they changed narrator's from someone who was quite good to this person who doesn't know how to well.. in this one at least she tries to make some differentiation between different peoples voice. it's still horrible she still mostly just totally flat and at the end of every sentence she elongates the last sound it makes it drop so it sounds like she has some bizarre speech pattern and or speech impediment. in the same way a really good narrator can make less-than-stellar writing better. A really horrible narrator makes the bad parts of writing stand out. I didn't notice before these two books how much she reiterates what went on and other books. Sometimes who chapters in the middle of a book are Recaps. I hope in the future they go back to the old narrator or find someone else. I don't know that I can sit through another one of these. and I had been a stalwart fan and waiting for the next book to come out and even purchased thing them on ebooks prior to them coming out is audio because I enjoyed it that much. I wish I had time to read this book rather than listen to this. well good luck everybody. and can somebody tell her how to pronounce the word glamour. second book and she still mispronouncing it.

Good book

I liked the book but the narrator sucks. Speed it up and it’s a little better.

Action

Battles!! Plenty of action and drama! The story was interesting and entertaining but jumps all over the place. The narrator did a good job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene.

Was the narrator a computer?

I love the book but the narrator sounded like a computer. I tried speeding up and slowing it down and it just was awful.

Not the Best Narrator, but you get used to her

Good addition to the Cassie Palmer world despite being very long with many areas that could have been abbreviated. Also, while the narrator is like the female version of William Shatner in terms of vocal ability and the fact that all the men sound the same, you get used to her after a while as the story grabs you. Can't wait for the next one, although I know I will have to. :)

Too rambling

I struggled to finish because it was too rambling. e.g. a one or two page description of the clothing of everyone in the room, a two or three page description of the decorations on the wall. these 2 book could have been several hundred pages smaller.
