Summary

"If the Shoe Fits encompasses everything I love about rom-coms. I laughed, I swooned, I smiled. Another hit for Julie Murphy!" (Colleen Hoover, number one New York Times best-selling author of Hopeless

If the shoe doesn’t fit, maybe it’s time to design your own.

Cindy loves shoes. A well-placed bow or a chic stacked heel is her form of self-expression. As a fashion-obsessed plus-size woman, she can never find designer clothes that work on her body, but a special pair of shoes always fits just right.

With a shiny new design degree but no job in sight, Cindy moves back in with her stepmother, Erica Tremaine, the executive producer of the world’s biggest dating reality show. When a contestant on Before Midnight bows out at the last minute, Cindy is thrust into the spotlight. Showcasing her killer shoe collection on network TV seems like a great way to jump-start her career. And, while she’s at it, why not go on a few lavish dates with an eligible suitor?

But being the first and only fat contestant on Before Midnight turns her into a viral sensation - and a body-positivity icon - overnight. Even harder to believe? She can actually see herself falling for this Prince Charming. To make it to the end, despite the fans, the haters, and a house full of fellow contestants she’s not sure she can trust, Cindy will have to take a leap of faith and hope her heels - and her heart - don’t break in the process.

Best-selling author Julie Murphy’s reimagining of a beloved fairy tale is an enchanting story of self-love and believing in the happy ending each and every one of us deserves.

Great twist

Narrator has a lovely voice. Great twist on a classic with some fab twists I didn't see coming. So much representation too. Cindy is such a sweet character.

I loved this book. Although at times the storyline was a little predictable I was hooked. Love Cindy's character. Great modern twist. Can't wait for more books!

Light, fun and worthy of a day dream

Hard to listen to this story without smiling. Listened in the car, during Saturday cleaning and Sunday errands. Definitely worthy of a credit!

Best book I’ve listened to in a long time!

I loved this story. It’s so refreshing to listen to something that isn’t all cishet straight-sized people. 10/10 totally recommend!

glad to see more books about plus size girls!

at first I struggled to get into the book and I think it wasn't so much the story as it was the narrator. the story was great this was the first book of this author I had ever listened to and after sticking with it I would probably listen to another one!!

Delightful

Julie Murphy knocks this one out of the park with a reimagining of a classic tale. Cindy is a fully-formed character and completely relatable.

Perfection

I live for these type of books! Julie Murphy knocks it out of the park once again. I hope this one gets made into a movie because I feel like it would become my favorite movie ever. Henry and Cindy are both so dang likable. The entire story flows so well and I love happily ever afters! The narrator has a great story telling voice too. Well done all around.
Get. This. Book!

Great potential…

I nbested the whole 9hours and 51minutes it took to make it to the end of this book. It had LOADS of potential to be an awesome book. Of course there was questions I had throughout that I figured would be explained in the end, like why did he wait so long to choose her for the private date if he’d already fell for her? Why’d he give her a walkie talkie and not ever really use it until she woke him up at night calling for him? And towards the end, Why did it never cross his mind to have her help launch new shoe line if company was struggling that much? Etc Cindy never asked any of that though.. and to have only the last 10 minutes dedicated to them reuniting was a major let down.
After she told him the truth about who her stepmother was, she was safe to let him know that she’d been privy to information from Becks about his contractual obligation to choose a different girl, but she didn’t. I feel like that’s the whole reason for the desperation and she didn’t even give him all the details- she just said “I didn’t think you’d choose me”…
Well okay then, so then the ending was basically a back and forth coy conversation implying maybe they’d meet up in Italy and if not then she’d be back in 2 weeks. That’s it. No big firework moment, no love declarations, nada. It just kind of upset me having spent that long being emotionally invested in this book to not really have a worthy finale.. that’s just my opinion.

The narration was great though- it’s usallly the narration that makes the book loose a lot for me but Jen did a great job, I think.

Loved this!

Although this is your normal romcom type of book, there were definitely some twists, and turns that I did not see it coming. It was so much fun to listen to, and I absolutely loved the characters in the storyline.

"Choose you"

I wasn't sure if I would like this book when I first started listening, but this definitely improved.
What I liked: Cindy and Henry. Cindy's family and friends, plus Beck. The letter to Cindy from her mother, and its beautiful message. My favorite scene was when she read the note card. Information about the fashion industry. I love clothes, but I could never design anything. I love that Cindy found her passion again.
What I didn't like: The "show" was too much like "The Bachelor." That's one of my guilty pleasures, so I'd like to read about a show that's different.

The Shoe Fits

A very cute book. It was honestly very refreshing to read a Cinderella type story where the stepfamily wasn’t awful.
