Summary
The chase is on in award-winning author Amanda Forester's brand-new Regency romance series!
A sizzling scandal just waiting to happen
Orphaned at young ages, Lady Katherine Ashton and her brother have spent most of their lives on the high seas, seeking to restore their family fortune through somewhat dubious means. After that kind of adventure, Kate knows, she won't ever be accepted as a proper society lady.
To the annoyingly clever, temptingly handsome, and altogether troublesome Earl of Wynbrook, society ladies are a dead bore. Kate, on the other hand, is scandalous, alluring, and altogether fascinating. And Kate can't decide which she relishes more, the thrill of chasing fearsome pirates or having Wynbrook chase after her.

Awesome Story! Amazing Narration!
WOW this was such a great book! I enjoyed every minute of this book. All the characters were great. Kate and Wynbrook were great together. They had great chemistry and there is nicely written sex scenes. Not erotica, not rated G, just nicely written.
Kate was awesome, loved her character. She was so smart, witty, beautiful, and charming. No simpering crybaby lead heroine in this book! Wynbrook was great too. Handsome, rich, smart, strong, and just the right amount of arrogance.
The story line and plot was great! It was full of mystery, villains, carriage chases, fights and all kinds of excitement the whole way through the entire book. The dialogue was fantastic there was lots of it! I didn't want it end!
As for the narration, it was absolutely amazing! I love Carolyn Morris' narrations. She has such a great voice. The men sound like men. Everyone gets their own distinct voice. She reads with emotion, and she has a wonderful reading voice! Amazing narrator!
This story and the superb narration made this book exceed the 5 star limit! Just loved it!

Rich Tale
Great Narration. Well rounded adventurous story. Fun characters that balance drama, romance and humor. The story felt a bit contrived for the first couple chapters but hang in, the characters unfold and the mysteries are kept until the end. I liked that there is no elicit sex scenes, instead true romantic encounters that are sweet and fit well with the story and characters. Loved it!

Very entertaining but with a surprisingly religious turn...
Well, I was very entertained and I must say after reading regency romance novels for years, this is the first book that I recall having multiple religious references and surprisingly quoting scripture. The characters were fun, witty, somewhat passionate and in the end one cannot help falling in love with Kate and John. After a long and drawn out seduction where they almost kissed multiple times, I had to step away because I got so frustrated with her varied protest when it was blatantly obvious he was/is perfect for her. When they finally did get together, it was all very G rated. If the Barbara Carlton*esque intimacy is what you enjoy, this IS the book for you. The narration is what kept me firmly locked in. I think I have found a new favorite narrator!

A lovely adventurous story
An enjoyable story however just a little bit too long. I thought it dragged on a little bit towards the end I started losing a bit of interest. Very well narrated though.

Good read and good narration..
This was a pretty good book. The hero and heroine were great and Kate’s back story was awesome. The story was about Wynbrook who knew Kate 6 years ago when his parents were killed in a carriage accident then she disappeared with her twin brother, Robert. Robert became a privateer while Kate stayed home and crunched numbers, while they became filthy rich, along with their investors. Kate and Wynbrook found each other again when they met at the bank to disperse the money, and the rest is history.
There was murder, kidnapping, adventure and excitement in this book BUT it didn’t really have to be almost 400 pages. I did find myself skimming a lot, looking for something good. Even with the skimming I enjoyed the story.
The last part of the book I did find it a little too religious for me. People spouting and writing bible verses was too much, I thought, and Kate asking Wynbrook to pray with her, so I can’t see myself reading anything by the author. I felt like the bible verses was the reason there was nothing sexual in the book but there was one very vanilla sex scene. And no swearing.
I really liked families: Kate and Robert, the twins, and Wynbrook’s sisters and brother, Anne, Jane, Ellen and my favorite goofball Tristan.
As to the narrator: All things considered Carolyn Morris did a decent job, Wynbrook sounded too feminine at times and Tristan sounded girly all the time. Except for those two things I liked her.

A bit churchy
This was a good story, a bit too much of the Bible verse quoting for me. However, I'd recommend it.

With an hour and a half left, that’s all she wrote for me!
About two hours too long. Intriguing storyline and kept my attention pretty glued for the first half of the book!
The past three hours I became a bit bored honestly. Keeps dragging on. So I’ll just tie this story up in a little bow and say to myself, “…and they lived happily ever after.”
Maybe I’ll come back to it one day! Male voices a bit too feminine for my taste and kept pulling me out of the story.
