Summary
The one obituary you never want to read - is your own.
Laura Swallow is dead. A life cut tragically short, says the newspaper obituary. But that's a lie.
Estate agent Laura did not die in a car accident. She is alive and well. At first, Laura thinks it's a sick joke. But multiple announcements of her death are followed by increasingly sinister real-life events.
Already fragile, struggling to recover from a recent divorce, Laura is plunged into a living nightmare. Who can she trust? Her new lover? Her clients and work colleagues? What about her ex-husband and his smug fiancee? Can Laura even rely on her best friends?
And why is it that Laura's present troubles are so tied up with her sister's sudden death all those years ago? But one thing Laura is sure of - someone out there wants her to suffer. Wants her gone.
Forever.

Utterly awful but good too
I can’t count the number of times I rolled my eyes upwards at the stupidity of the main character. Very predictable ,except to the main character. Guessed very early who was protagonist. Quite childish not very intelligent writing

The bad plot line
It started off ok but … Jesus wept this was a bad story - implausible and could work out who the baddie was straight away

Predictable
Saw how the story was going after a few chapters, stuck it out hoping to be proven wrong with another twist but very disappointed.
Another of the same ‘thriller’ you’ve read before, heard one heard them all.
The narration was VERY irritating, but that probably wasn’t helped by how unlikable the main character was. Although narrator was consistent with accent mostly, would randomly finish the odd sentence with an overly Queens English-like flourish?! Very out of place & just odd. Don’t bother.

Bonkers but highly entertaining
I don’t think it was supposed to be funny but I found the final climatic chapters hysterical, probably down to the narrator’s high drama. A little predictable but I loved it anyway

Really good plot
Really good plot with good characters. The love interest could have been better, but overall a good read.

Annoying
I have never found a victim so annoying before, I honestly didn't think it was possible. I couldn't finish the book, I found myself crying out loud "FFS" so many times, it was no fun. The only positive thing I can say about this book is that the narrator did a good job.

This story takes a great twist and turn. Keeps you gripped wondering and not wanting to put down until you know more and even then you need to know more.

Is the lead character really that stupid??
Oh my God - how bloody stupid can anyone truly be?
So obvious who the ‘baddie’ is, but others see the clues and go along with her delusional stupidity!
OMG, so annoying!
Thank goodness it was a freebie, but if this is the usual of this authors work, I’m not interested at all in listening to anymore of this drivel!
