Timeless and invaluable

Read by the man himself, this book is honestly the most influential book I have read and now listened to. A product of the 80s I have always been a bricks and mortar type of guy but coming across HTOW and Andrew Craig has literally changed how I treat my finance and plan for my family's future. I can't thank Andy enough for taking the time to write this and share his amazing knowledge and wisdom with us all. Brilliant.

It's a cliche, but this is an essential read!

this genuinely is a book we all would like to have read 15 years ago... but if you have not read anything of this sort it's probably essential that you read a book of this type now.

A very comprehensive beginners guide to finance!

Although I haven't read too many books on the subject of finance, this one stands out due to its simplified approach. Andrew Craig manages to break down investment approaches into an easy to understand and most importantly, appropriate steps that anyone can implement. I would highly recommend this book as it made me realise that investing is not and doesn't need to be complicated. Moreover, providing that you are not an industry expert, I am confident it will do the same for you!
I am certainly looking forward to Andrew's future work.

Brilliant all-encompassing look at building wealth

Andrew Craig's book is the perfect antidote to most of the overly simplistic (but highly rated) "level-1" books which dominate the personal finance space. It's clear that the author has a keen interest in not just personal finance, but economics and is sympathetic to the principles of the Austrian school (even if he does quote JM Keynes).

This book teaches the reader how to understand the large macroeconomic forces at work, the workings of the monetary system, the implications of these trends, and then how to assess fair value of ALL the major asset classes, not just the common ones which most other books seem to overly focus on.

The core theme of this book is that Personal Finance does not just happen in a vaccum. Nothing works well all of the time. No single asset is "the best" investment. There is a time and a place for everything, and the more you increase your understanding of the world the more you can make use of the different options available to you.

I have read many personal finance/investing/FI books and for this this book is the best entry point to understanding what is really going on in the world and how to position yourself accordingly.
