Summary
Animals are the direct product of their environment. They reactively evolve over time based on external circumstances. The process of their evolution is slow and random. Human beings are the indirect product of their environment. Although the environment is the medium through which humans adapt and evolve, our choices determine our environments. This is the fundamental difference. We get to decide the course and intensity of our personal evolution by intelligently designing our environments. By purposefully embracing difficult environments, and by cultivating highly conscious habits, you will actualize as a human being and experience complete freedom over the direction of your life.

Mixed feelings
I have very mixed feelings about the content of this book. The advice is not generally applicable and needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.
If you are a young man raised in America by clueless but otherwise benevolent (not too bad) parents who are willing to accept you and even learn a few things from you, then this book is perfect for you. I'm not 🙂
A warning: the author highlights how he took a leap of faith and gave up a tedious job to become a full-time writer and how feeling responsible for his family motivated him to succeed in this endeavour. But in the credits of another book, he thanks his in-laws for financially supporting him and his family during those times. So, not so much of a leap of faith, in my opinion, but a plunge took while knowing someone had his back.
He speaks about the risks he took, but at the same time, it's clear he had tonnes of support. The kind of support I, for example, never had and never will have, and not because I'm lazy or a coward.
So, in modern terms, he is a bit privileged and speaks from this perspective 😉 But otherwise, he's smart and a good guy.

Not for me
Too preachy , and infantile shoulds and shouldnts.
Glad I didn't spent my credit on this.

Not bad!
This book can be summarised as a book that summarises other books, quotes and beliefs. it's fine, but lacks context other than that what others have written.

a lot of repetition, but repetition ain't bad
to learn something you need to hear it a lot of times. but I feel like the book could be quite a bit shorter. although the information inside is a great summery of all the great ideas and books out there. it's good te refresh on previous read books and hear how everything is applied in life. definitely going to pick up my book and start journaling and setting goals

So disappointed
I continued listening in the background because it’s always helpful hearing things you’ve heard in the past, repeated. And that was my biggest problem with this book. While there are many times where he credits other authors or creatives, there are also many times he uses ideas and quotes I’ve heard originate elsewhere without due recognition. The vast majority of original ideas, which are very sparing, are communicated typically with condensation and judgment. Maybe he didn’t know he’s coming off this way, but even his recollection of his conversation with the literary agent he sought out, he clearly had his ego bruised and seemed angry, rather then expressing that he used her qualified comments as motivation to achieve results she didn’t predict for him. It would’ve been received better if he showed maturity in the situation by flipping what she said as fuel and reflective of her personal experience, rather than a personal attack. Additionally, there were a handful of comments made that very clearly made me feel he was only talking to men. It’s unfortunate, because I’m worth being included in the conversation and spoken to.

Amazing... Listened while 4:44 am wake up and runs
I will listen it maybe 20 times more. And I know every listening will bring me same high level of excitement, crystal clear learning and huge improvements towards my ideal past, now and future. I was following Benjamin P. Hardy since jan 7th 2017 via Medium. He suddenly became one of my favourite authors, mentor and lifelong hero. And I see him happily that he is guiding hundreds of thousands of lucky people like me. Soon he will reach millions of people and world become a better place.

Voice is fine, but regurgitates info from others
The narrative voice and layout is fine. Inflection and tone are appropriate and good.
Contest is just regurgitated information from Seth Godin, Tim Ferris, and others all freely available on their sites or YouTube.
Author references them way too often that you’re better off getting their stuff from them.
Lastly, the book talks in circles a lot just retelling the same thing again and again like the author had to hit a minimum requirement.
Don’t ever spend money on this and if it is free... skip it.

Too clichéd
The narrator does a great job of delivering rather boring and repeatable content in an amusing manner.

Some questionable claims but overall inspirational
There were were some obviously "following the herd" claims that felt like snake oil advertising, but the book as a whole contained good wisdom and inspiration.

Really?
Advises you can find in Google like “coconut oil” and “fasting” is good.
WORST PART. This guy believes no one should ever retire nowadays because we don’t have physical labor? Also that we have to work until our last breath?
...Just crazy awful.

Resourceful & Quite Entertaining.
Would Recommend this to anyone listening/reading similar Audiobooks or material. Great short listen and not something 1 hour that is stretched into 5 hour material.

The book repeats itself A LOT.
I feel like the author just wanted to fill some pages. I can instant using a quote or 2 but there's so many quotes and they're often repeated. Without all the repetition the book would have been half as long and twice as good.
