Standing up
I enjoyed this easy cosy mystery, despite it being aimed at young teens. There is no murder to solve but it does cover the subject that many people can relate to, bullying. Holly despite being very like able is the target for a malicious bully when she is talked into running for class president. The author has a good grasp on what it is like being a teenager and growing up in today's world, the struggles and loneliness they can face on a daily basis. I like how Holly handles the bully and the book contains a good moral to the story, I know it doesn't work for everybody but talking about it, if you can't stand up to the bully does help, especially if you have good friends.
Holly is asked to run for class president and with all her friends backing her, she decides that it would be good to have a say in how the school is run. That is until someone starts smearing her good name. The other three candidates aren't targeted but with Holly's ability to solve mysteries can she solve this one? Or is the bully right and she shouldn't be running? With the pressure rising and with more responsibility at her job can Holly handle it and really make for a good President?
I liked the narrator, she has a young sounding voice which is just right for the character Holly and her friends.
