Summary

"Suddenly, all those old country love songs I’d played so often made perfect sense.”

Gravel-voiced Gibson Bodine takes his lone wolf image seriously. The tough guy. The bad boy. He lives alone. Works alone. His one love - besides starting a good brawl - is sitting on a rinky-dink stage in a backwoods bar playing guitar and singing about things he’ll never have. When a video of him playing goes viral, Gibson ignores the unwanted attention. He’s got bigger things to worry about. Like the bomb his half-brother’s mom just dropped on him. And the fallout from the memento he’s been carrying around for 13 years. He doesn’t have time for fame...or love...or meddling neighbors stopping by with casseroles and questions. But one night in a bar, 50 miles from home, he meets her. And she changes everything.

In Bootleg Springs - home of the best moonshine and nosiest neighbors in West Virginia - secrets don’t keep. When the truth about Callie Kendall’s fate brings danger home, it’s up to Gibson to step up and be the hero. And maybe find what he’s been missing all along. Love.

incredible story. absolutely fabulous series.

5*++
Gibson is the eldest of the family and has always felt responsible for them. The effect of his drunken father has had a huge impact on his life.
Callie's disappearance 13 years ago is still throwing up people's curiosity and rumors circulating throughout Bootleg Springs, especially after the discovery of a picture of Callie & Gibson was found inside his wallet.
Mia Davis has been tasked to try and get Gibson to sign up for the record label she works for she's got a good record for signing talent up.
When Gibson spots her he feels a connection to her but he's never seen her before.
I've loved reading this series and was ecstatic to listen to them on audio.
The narrators truly fetched the book to life.

I laughed, I cried, I didn’t want it to end!

My only regret about this series? I didn’t find it sooner! Like, where was I? Under a rock?!! Omg! From book one to book six, I was in love. My favorite was June and George but they were all so very amazing. I kept waffling between the “who done it”, but I was mostly sure…lol. Claire and Lucy together? Perfect book mate match! Also, the narrators, Dexter and Duke? Perfect!

What a way to wrap up the series!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This series was freaking amazing!!! I love the small town and all it’s people!! Each book is unique and gives little tidbits to the missing person investigation. I felt like it was going one way and then bam…. Some little twist!! This was such a great finale to the series. Who doesn’t love a grumpy guy!!! Gibson was a grouch throughout the whole series but he was justified in his reasons. He always kinda kept to himself. It’s not until a friend from his past comes to town that chips away slowly at this wall he’s built around himself so we start to see the softer side of him!!
Also all the extra little epilogues at the end were fantastic! It gave closure not to just the couples but also people in the town. I also loved the break down in conversation between both authors and what they thought these books should be about and how they all tie to each other.
The narrators were simply freaking AMAZING!!!! ❤️🎧

Gibson & Callie

Great Ending to this 6 book series, Romance and a mystery comes to a HEA ending. Its a must to read in order to hear the clues for each story. Gibson and Callies ending of the series of the bad boy grumpy oldest brother who took on the brunt of blame for their parents life going to shit and the secret friendship he had with Callie before she disappeared, comes full circle with death, mystery and a unknown sibling along the way. He can finally find acceptance, Love, and peace. Each book had just the right touch of mystery and 🔥 and kept you fanning yourself.. lol Happy reading

A perfect swoony end to the series and the mystery

This book is the perfect heart warming, small town grumpy guy/sunshiny girl love story with side of romantic suspense and mystery solving. Plus it is filled with all the feels - expect to laugh, cry, swoon, grit your teeth and hold your breath. Stephen Dexter and Natalie Duke were the perfect narrators to bring Gibson and Mia to life. Gibson Bodine is the oldest Bodine sibling. He has 3 brothers and a sister. He is very grumpy and likes to be left alone. The world does not always give him what he wants. A video of him singing in a local bar has gone viral and resulted in record executives calling him to discuss a recording contract that he is not interested in. Mia Davis works for a record company and is tasked with going to Bootleg Springs, WV to talk to Gibson. She initially is going to refuse to go for personal reasons but changes her mind once she hears Gibson’s voice. Gibson and Mia are the perfect couple to end this series and to show us the solution to the Callie Kendall mystery. They both have a truckload of baggage to work through on their way to their HEA but the journey is delicious perfection. Bootleg Springs is just the most hilarious, heart warming, sweet, nosy, eccentric small town that ever existed. This hilarious romantic suspense has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, fan your face steam, painful pasts, strong friendships, crazy families, quirky town folks, snort worthy moments, a mystery, some danger, surprises, plot twists, and so much love. There is an overarching mystery plot line that runs through this series and this book is the ending so the series needs to be enjoyed in order or it’ll spoil the plot. I am sorry to see the end of the series. I will miss the Bodine family and the rest of Bootleg Springs. I really appreciated the extended epilogue that was included in the audio version.

Loved the series

I loved the quirky characters and town. Good balance of dirty and sweet in the romances. There was good character development and relationship building not only between the couple in each book, but between family.

Bodine family complete

I am so glad that Gibson got his HEA. I knew deep down he was a softy & he had a big secret he was holding back on. I absolutely loved the way he just knew, from one glance that she was it for him. Maya was dealt one heck of a hand in life to play with. But I must say, she made the absolutely best out of what she was given. Even though she hadn’t put down roots, she was thriving. But at some point, roots are what make us whole. She came in like a tornado & made the Bodine family whole.
Bootleg Springs has a way of showing us what we are missing. Just one trip to the quirky town seems to snare all of the good ones to stay & never want to leave.
This book was a perfect end to an amazing series. The mystery and the clues throughout the series were awesome. I loved soaking them in & trying to figure it out for myself.
