Summary

One day, she thought, one moment, one innocent game. How was it that day, that moment, that game never seemed to end?

Caitlyn Sullivan is just nine years old when a game of hide-and-seek at a family party will change her life forever.

The betrayal she experienced that night will shape Caitlyn's life - and for years she runs and runs, hiding from the aftermath of the trauma. But Caitlyn comes to realise that if she wants to not just survive but thrive, she must return to the family home to face up to her past.

What happened that night may always haunt Caitlyn, but she must decide if it's what you're running from that matters. Or who finds you.

Family warmth and the closeness of all the people. Also the cleverness and bravery of the little girl.

The ending I would have liked to hear about the wedding, but know that was unlikely but a longer ending would have been nice.

IRISH AMERICAN

For an Irish reader the bad pronunciation of Irish words and Irish names is like a nail on a chalkboard. the name Caitlin, pronounced Katelyn, is not an Irish name - it is an American mispronunciation. There is no sound like "Kate" in the Irish language. it correctly spelled as CAITLÍN, with a fada over the I. it is pronounced Katleen. infuriating and takes away from the Irishness of the book. other than that. the book was OK. Great for an Audible listen.

A bit cheesy

It was OK but a bit cheesy dialogue. Good to listen to when doing something else.

not as good as some others

I have been collecting and reading Nora Roberts books for many years and am sorry to say this is not one of her best. I read it all in one go but just to see if it would get better. the story had no depth to it and was without substance . I will probably read it again sometime but only to see if it gets better second time around.

Really enjoyed the book and the narration.

I have read the book several times since published, as it is one of my favourites. Since purchasing the audible version, I have listed to it over 10 times. January LaVoy - you've done a great job.

Review

Storytelling was exceptional and added depth to a good story but did feel the last chapter did lack some tension. However, overall was enjoy able.

Enjoyable story

This is my second Nora Roberts book. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. It wasn’t a ‘page turner’ but easy to listen too. The main character was a little bit sugary sweet, and the storyline a bit predictable.

Narration: I know it has annoyed others from reading the reviews before handing over my credit, but it didn’t spoil it for me and I enjoyed the characterisations.

I would recommend this to anyone liking a bit of Hollywood glitz and a good old fashioned love story.

I look forward to listening to some of Norah’s other books.
