An unlikely alliance!

Mrs. Bennet travels to London to try to put things right between her daughter Jane and Mr. Bingley. Unfortunately, before she can do so, she’s knocked down by a passing carriage outside the Bingley home and doesn’t survive her injuries. The problem that arises is that she can’t pass on to the next world without help. Who does she choose? You’d expect it to be Elizabeth, most likely but no. It’s none other than the man she regards as proud and disagreeable - Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy! He’s the only one who can see and hear her.

This is such a funny, if short-ish, tale! It’s beautifully written by S. Neha, the first of their works that I've the pleasure to read or listen to. Once again, Harry Frost turns in a remarkable performance. The voices for each character are distinct and his female voices are managed without a hint of the falsetto that sometimes occurs in male narrators. His Darcy, in particular, is full of dry, put upon humour when having to deal with Mrs. Bennet. Needless to say, she sometimes pops up at the most inappropriate times!

I'd definitely recommend this if you want a shorter Austenesque listen but with all of the quality of something longer.

A great story

A very enjoyable story. It is excellently narrated by Harry Frost. His female voices are brilliant, especially that of Mrs Bennet and Lydia.

A good book with excellent narration

An interesting story which was generally well written. The real success however is the narration. Harry Frost has become an excellent narrator in this field - his Mrs Bennet is spot on!
