Summary

Tried to return this, wasn't allowed.
I have a few of Meghan O'Brien's book which I enjoy, but I couldn't warm to the main characters in this one and the voice for Alex is terrible.
There was virtually no plot and I really didn't care what happened at the end.
I made myself finish it, I must have been in a particularly masochistic mood.

oh Claire
faith Clark has my heart, her vocalisation of Claire is so sultry and the sexyist character voice I've ever heard. meghan O'brien is a marvellous writer and I have all but 1 of her audible books (narrator sorry) this one made me laugh cry sigh and cheer, full of emotions. Read 📚 twice and will probably read again one day when recovered.

I can't put into words how amazing this is
narrator was perfect. hot and heavy almost immediately, but I loved it. it's now my new favourite.

Great butch/fem dynamic
I loved this book. I really enjoyed the dynamic of Claire and Alex’s relationship. It was a nice change to have a butch main character, especially one who took charge in the bedroom too.
This book is definitely not safe to listen to at work. There are a lot of very hot sex scenes, in fact I initially thought that I’d accidentally downloaded a collection of erotic short stories but this is a full novel.
Once I was a couple of hours into the book I encouraged my wife to download it too and she also really enjoyed it.
The narrator’s voice sounded very young which was a little bit off putting at first for a book with a lot of sex in it but she did do different voices for the two main characters. I got used to her sounding like a sixteen year old after a while.

What would have made Her Best Friend's Sister better?
Sorry but the narrator of this book is awful, I seriously had to stop listening. Whoever signed this off for listening hasn't done the author any favors. its a shame as the subject matter was quite entertaining.
What didn’t you like about Faith Clarke’s performance?
I'm sorry but her voice was so mundane and moving from character to character was an excruciating listen.. just awful.

Great story overall
The only thing this story is missing is the flirtation that starts the most relationships, but it's not really needed. The love scenes are steamy and frequent, so draw yourself a hot bubble bath and get cozy, because you're going to have a hard time putting this one down.

I couldn't finish this . . .
What disappointed you about Her Best Friend's Sister?
I have listened to quite a few lesbian romances and erotica and enjoyed them immensely. But this reads like a bad porn movie. No build up - the tackiest lines and really no story line except a crazy ex-girlfriend that sends the new girlfriend into constant self-doubt. There is way better lesbian fiction and erotica out there than this.

Extreme erotic! Give me a cold glass of beer!
Out of all the O'Brien books I've read, this is the most sexy erotic book she ever wrote! NOTE: I would say about a good half the book is well wet sex scenes!! (So, you are warned!) Or very happy!
The rest of the book has good story and characters that does help to flow along well. Except the bad ex-girlfriend was typical flat one-side bitch. Very emotional main characters from jealousy too with soft caring love that was brilliantly written.
I wish the ending plot didn't wrapped up too fast done.
Clarke performance is very convincing telling each characters in a different vocal personalty.

I'm 3 hours in
and I just don't think I can listen to the rest. Audible can have this one back. In my opinion, you have to build anticipation for the sex. Otherwise, it is just more or less soft core porn and not exciting at all to me, just words.
I mean, I get the times when you first get together and all you do is have sex...but I'm reading it, not doing it, I'm gonna need a little more.
I do like the fact that it has more graphic and real lesbian sex. A lot of books just pussyfoot around the edges. But again, it is better when you lead into it. More story would go along way with this book. Maybe it comes later, but it is too late for me.

I love Meghan O'Brein! She really knows how to write sex scenes. I enjoyed the story line and how the characters interacted with each other. The narration was well delivered and convincing.

Great story line! love scenes were wow! The narrator was able to making the voices sound distinct so I didn't get lose who said what. looking forward to reading my next book from Megan O'Brien.

I mean, if you’re looking for a book that’s primarily back to back sex scenes without a whole lot of storyline, this is the book for you! There’s enough character development throughout that you can get a Little bit into the characters...but let’s face it, this is a book with a lot of sex and not a lot of depth/plot. Still a fun listen though!

It was not her best work
The sex scenes were hot but the story was blah. It was very repetitive and got boring. She could have done a better job with the story. I found myself waiting for the book to be over.
