Summary
From New York Times bestselling author Catherine Ryan Hyde comes a bittersweet novel about healing old wounds and finding a new place to call home…
Roseanna Chaldecott spent her life as a high-powered lawyer in Manhattan. But when her best friend and law partner dies suddenly, something snaps. Unsure of her future, Roseanna heads upstate on one tank of gas and with no plans to return.
In the foothills of the Adirondacks, Roseanna discovers the perfect hideout in a ramshackle farm. Its seventy-six acres are rich with possibilities and full of surprises, including a mother and daughter squatting on the property. Although company is the last thing Roseanna wants, she reluctantly lets them stay.
Roseanna and the young girl begin sculpting junk found around the farm into zoo animals, drawing more newcomers - including her estranged son, Lance. He pleads with Roseanna to return to the city, but she’s finally discovered where she belongs. It may not provide the solitude she originally sought, but her heart has found room for much more.

Lost and Found
A reminder that, when we spend our lives accumulating "stuff" we can leave behind the things that are really important. This is a story of one such person, Rosanna who was awoken by a great loss but, through that loss she found what is really important.

Just the best!!
Love this book!! When a successful attorney loses her best friend and law partner unexpectedly, she realized that hard work, long hours and expensive cars are not what brings true happiness. Quite by accident, she discovers a piece of Heaven in a rundown house in a rural area outside the City. This book reminded me of the important things in life and the story is told as only this author can do it! The narration is PERFECT for this story. Don’t miss this one!!

Catherine Ryan Hyde has done it again!
From start to finish I never put this book down! Catherine Ryan Hyde never ceases to amaze me with her very own style of tugging at heartstrings. Each and every work of art that she has written leaves me with a deeper understanding of the human heart. I highly recommend this book ! You will not be disappointed!

Long & tedious
I generally like this author. But I could not get into the reader on this one. The voice was not in line with the main character to my mind and all the other characters that were female whether they were five years old or 50 years old were the same voice, shrill or necessarily appropriate. characters that were important at one point basically vanished. I listened to the end but I could have done without it.

Heaven in the Country!
This author creates complicated characters who live in the real world, solving real problems. The problems and solutions also manage to teach a lesson. The writing in this story allows the reader to visualize everything. I wanted to live in this book!

Meh. Could have been good
Wouldn’t recommend to anyone I know. Could have been a good story but I’m so sick of the PC agendas being in everything that I can’t stand it.

Change In A Life
Our story begins with the death of a friend. Our heroine undergoes a transformation as the result. Her whole life is upended and we see her in a completely new environment. The people she meets while undergoing this change, only add interest to the story. I especially enjoyed the authors depiction of her characters and listening to the audible version. I look forward to more reads from this author.

Love love love Catherine Ryan Hyde!
As with all of Catherine Ryan Hyde‘s books, it is it’s own unique story, no theme writer, her. This was funny, realistic in human imperfectness, warm, heartfelt . I thoroughly enjoyed The audio version.
