Summary

Dear Jackson,

I'm leaving you this note because I know you're very busy, and I don't want to waste the town sheriff's time. Lord knows I've already wasted enough of it.

Thank you for taking me home last night and...everything else. I made you a basket of wild blueberry muffins for your trouble. That seemed like the appropriate baked good for getting naked in your living room.

I wasn't myself last night. I didn't mean to kiss you or fondle your backside or ask all those intimate questions. Thank you for pretending to enjoy it.

It was very noble of you to sleep on the couch while I was starfished on your bed. I couldn't help but notice it's quite large. The bed, that is. I swear, I didn't notice anything else when I let myself out this morning.

As you know, Talbott's Cove is a ridiculously small town, and there's no chance we can avoid each other. Not that I'd want to avoid you, of course, but I'm not sure I can look at you without thinking of the 40 different ways I made a fool of myself.

Instead of avoidance, let's try to be friends. We'll forget all about last night...if that's what you want. Please burn this note after you read it

- Annette

P.S. I whipped up some cinnamon buns, too. Please enjoy them. I'm not sure why, but I couldn't get buns out of my mind today.

I wish I could find more authors similar to Kate Canterbary

First of all the male voice is just .... no words. I loved how deep and relatable both characters were. I love the intensity of their attraction to one another. This book is currently one of my favourites. It reminds me of Kirsten Ashley’s “the hook up”and “Deacon”. I have a thing for intense alphas.

Generic. Boring. Just Not Good.

I couldn't even finish this one. It's not because it's terrible or because I hate it. It's just not good.

There is very little emphasis actual relationship building and much more emphasis on the hook ups, which is fine, but the hook ups really aren't that hot.

The sad thing is, I think there could've been a decent comedy aspect, but the narrators didn't have comedic timing/inflection for parts that I think were meant to be funny. The best friend character is funny, and honestly the most entertaining part of the book, but she's not in much of the book.

I just got bored and didn't want to listen to more of the book. Which I don't think has ever happened before.

Good story!

I read this book when it first came out and I enjoyed it. I love Kate Canterbary’s writing. The audiobook was ok. I enjoyed the male narrator, Blake Richard, but was less fond of Lauren Sweet, the female narrator.

Another amazing audio from Kate!

Kate is one of my favorite authors who could write just about anything and I'd pick it up and love it. I love her book on audio as they come to life so well. Her writing allows you to emerge yourself into the story and feel like you're in it along with the characters! The narrators did a fantastic job bringing her characters to life in this book!

Hated both narrators

Great story. Enough that I struggled through two awful narrators. Breathy and just yuck. Loved the sexy parts. Again great story.

I love Kate Canterbury's stories

I love Katie and her ability to pull you into the story, to make you get ALL the feels, but the female narrator was almost too annoying to listen to. If this were not a book by an author I always look forward to I would have deleted the book.

DFN

I DFN (did not finish) Hard Press because the male narrator killed the story for me . I ended up , getting the e-book read it and enjoyed it. It's a very good read but not as good as book 1 that was phenomenal.

Nice story about a woman gaining confidence

Overall I liked this story. The baking definitions at the beginning of each chapter didn’t make a lot of sense to me, but they didn’t take away from the overall story. I thought the town where the story was set seemed lovely and it was easy to picture it in my minds eye.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the male narrator’s voice, but got used to it over time.
