The best Book I've listened to in ages
- By Mrs. K. C. Holmes on 10-05-14
Summary
Number-one New York Times best-selling author Nora Roberts cordially invites you to meet childhood friends Parker, Emma, Laurel, and Mac - the founders of Vows, one of Connecticut’s premier wedding planning companies.
Parker Brown turned the quartet’s childhood game of Wedding Day into their dream jobs. And now she’s the face of Vows - the one who meets every bride’s demands; keeps every event on schedule; and brings Emma’s romantic flowers, Laurel’s delicious treats, and Mac’s stunning photography together in one glorious package. She knows how to make dreams come true.…
Mechanic Malcolm Kavanaugh loves figuring out how things work, and Parker Brown - with her mile-long legs - is no exception. But as a good friend of Parker’s brother, Mal knows that moving from minor flirtation to major hookup is a serious step.
No man has rattled Parker in a long time, but the motorcycle-riding, raven-haired Mal seems to have a knack for it. His passionate kisses always catch her off guard, much like her growing feelings for him. Parker’s business risks have always paid off, but now she’ll have to take the chance of a lifetime with her heart….

Magical Conclusion to the Quartet
Stunning finish to this fabulous quartet by Nora Roberts. I have been listening to this series from the very start and I couldn't wait to hear Parkers story. I was hoping that Malcom was going to be her happily ever after from early on in the series and as always Ms Roberts delivered in style.
Angela Dawe once again delivers an amazing narration and has a really pleasant voice to listen to.
Picking up a Nora Roberts book to read/listen is like having coffee with an old friend everytime is as good as the last.
Start with Vison in White and work your way through.
Hope you enjoy the journey through the life of the women of Vows as much as I did.

Amazing
A beautiful way to close up this quartet! Parker and Malcolm look like they have nothing in common, but as they get to know each other their feelings are blooming. This is a great close to this wonderful series. Even though most Nora Roberts love stories are very predictable she has a way of writing characters that you know them. I can see being friends with these people I feel like I have been part of their lives. Parker’s story is a great way to close out a great quartet.

Terrific finish to a great series!
What made the experience of listening to Happy Ever After the most enjoyable?
I love all of these characters and wanted to see them all come full circle - and Nora Roberts did it beautifully! Like so many who reviewed the first in the series, Vision in White, the narrator did not vary the voices at all and I agree that the lisp was in all of the characters and was very distracting. Angela Dawe, however, who narrated the following 3 books was wonderful!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Loved them all!
What about Angela Dawe’s performance did you like?
All of the voices were very distinct - even her male characters sounded male (not always easy for women to accomplish). She also infused so much life and varying emotions into each one so that I actually felt what they were feeling! Of course, having Nora Roberts flesh them all out so completely has to help a good narrator.
If you could take any character from Happy Ever After out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Parker because she is organized like I am, and yet (with the help of her Tums) is able to go with flow - she doesn't lose it when faced with the many problems that arise in putting on weddings.
Any additional comments?
I think this would make a great TV series - even a 69-year old woman like me - married to a terrific guy for 45 years - enjoys a good wedding, complete with some bridezillas, take-charge mothers, feuding among wedding party members, the endless potential for drama. Even if it starts with all of the ladies already married, the way these couples communicate and are always there for each other is something that would be refreshing for young girls and women to see!

I laught and cried whilst listening to this book
review
The perfect book to end this wonderful series.
Parker Brown loves her life. Working together with her three best friends in their own wedding business is everything she wished for. She doesn't mind the long hours and hard work because she believes in love and giving couples a great start into their marriage makes her happy.
After Mac, Emma and Laurel all found love Parker is wondering what the future holds for her. Sure Malcolm Kavanaugh is sexy, charming, a good son and friend and also hardworking. But he also irritates her whenever they meet. At first Parker isn't sure how to handle the attraction she feels for Mal but comes to realize that giving him and their relationship a chance might be one of the best decisions in her life.
Will Mal and Parker find a way to their personal happy end although on first glance they couldn't be more different?
It's no secret that I adore the books in the Bride Quartet by Nora Roberts and "Happy Ever After" is no exception. The book fits perfectly in this series because it's just as lovely, entertaining and full of great characters as the other three books.
I loved reading about Parker & Mal and how they got to know each other better. On first glance they are quiet different but they value the same things and it's soon pretty clear that they are perfect for each other. I liked Parker from book one on and I was so happy to read how she found love with a great man who respects her dreams and ambitions.
Mal is a fantastic hero. Learning more about his hard past made me want to hug him. I loved how he thinks about cheaters and bullies and that he is as open-minded as the others. Parker and Mal's relationship is even less dramatic than the ones in the other three books and I love that Nora Roberts doesn't need a big showdown to write wonderful and emotional books.
The book is not only beautiful and relaxed but also pretty funny and I had to smile a lot while reading it. One of my highlights is how Parker and Mal dealt with Linda at Mac and Carter's wedding. I thought that there would be something dramatic but the way Nora Roberts wrote it was so much better and made me like Mal even more.
I also loved the scenes in which the guys (Carter, Jack and Del) talked about their fiancees to Mal. To read how much they love and respect their women was heart-warming and wonderful.
Another thing I enjoy in this series is that it's about love and friendship and that Nora Roberts doesn't make differences between heterosexual and gay couples. "Happy Ever After" and the Bride Quartet are a celebration of love and there's no place for prejudices. If you are looking for beautiful romances with great characters that concentrate on friendship and little details then you will love this book and the series.

Waited but let down when it arrived
I can't tell you how many book from Nora Roberts that I own or have read. This Quartet was something I really looked forward to and enjoyed the 1st 3 books. I feel like the author got tired of her subjects and just winged the last and final book to get it finished and out on the shelves. I expected more character depth from Parker the lead lady in the book and was let down.
I don't regret my purchase but could have used more closure and depth from the characters. I believe that this author put these books out for all her old fans to keep us happy.
