Summary

It's early in the morning. The sun is starting to peek over the horizon. Gerald is standing in front of the La Quinta Inn in Del Rio, Texas. Confused and frustrated, he looks left and right, down Highway 90. Gerald is gathering his thoughts of the last several hours and how he got to this moment. Earlier in the night, he was in Ciudad Acuña, Mexico, just a few miles from Del Rio over the southern border. Now standing here, smelling of alcohol, and smoke, wearing a Korn Band t-shirt, Ginkgo Jeans, and holding a suitcase, he realizes just how lost he is. As he starts walking down the highway to reconnect with the guys he rode into town with, Gerald is stopped by a car offering a helping hand as he accepts out of desperation and going against his mother's warnings of never getting in the car with strangers. This car ride would change his life forever. Gerald would go from a life of hangovers to Jesus.
