About this listen
When Gulliver Leverenz abandons LA to make a fresh start in New York, he leaves behind his family, his friends - and one bastard ex-boyfriend. It’s certainly an impulse move: Gully has no job, no money, and no direction. What he does have is a former fraternity brother with a posh apartment, a crew of incredibly hot friends, and a reputation as a rising star in the gay nightlife scene.
As luck would have it, Gully soon snags a job with a talent agent and even finds himself a new boyfriend. There’s just one catch: Gulliver knows this budding relationship could get him in a lot of trouble. And inevitably, it does just that.
The whole mess blows up in his face, leading to an onslaught of catastrophes that leaves him in a tragic and seemingly hopeless situation beneath the skyscrapers. But Gulliver is tougher than he realizes and is determined to prove, once and for all, that he has what it takes to make it in New York.
By turns exciting, sad, and hysterically funny, Gulliver Takes Manhattan is a candid tale of one man’s adventures in the greatest city in the world.

Gripping
This book had me hooked from the moment that plane landed in JFK. I would have liked it to be a little longer, what happened with gully? is he still working in the bar? Are Todd and the crew still about or did he mess things up again? I need more!

Narrator 10, story...maybe a 6??
Cole Ferguson was amazing; unfortunately for me, the story got more unbelievable the further it went on. Gully and the rest of the guys seemed to do nothing but get drunk and have sex...usually at the same time. Yes, it was funny to start off with, but rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat...it was sooo boring, and frankly irresponsible, given that STD's and HIV are on the rise. 3.5 stars.
This is the sort of story, written by a gay guy, that gives other gay guys a bad name IMHO. It does them no favours whatsoever, and surely fans the flames of the straight male's belief that gay guys DO just have sex wherever, whenever and with whoever [although I think jealousy is sometimes involved too ;)]. Will not be listening to the sequel, although Cole Ferguson I WILL be looking out for.
