The first two words of this book are “dear Goddaughter”. I had to pause the playback because I welled up with tears immediately. I knew this book was going to speak into an area of my life that I had been waiting for the Lord to help me with; the lost connection of mother and daughter. But I didn’t know it was going to be read, or spoken over me by a Godmother herself... the first 2 words should tell you all you need to know about the heart and intention of this book.

Not only do you learn, laugh and lean into so much of this book, it is a gift just to hear it, to hear the passion in Lisa’s words as earnestly seeks to encourage and empower is a extra blessing to my heart.

I listen to audio books as home-educating mum of 4 as it is easier to finish a book when your hands are full. But now I see that listening to this book is 100 times better of an experience than reading it. There are power in her words!

I am blessed by Lisa's sharing and counsel through her stories. However, it was most uncomfortable listening to her because she emphasised almost every single word she read, and the reading was extremely jerky as a result of it. If only she had read like she was speaking naturally to her audience, it would have been much easier to listen to her. I just wanted to quickly finish the book so I didn't have to listen to her unnatural reading anymore.

I stumbled on this book and boy am I glad I did. ypu can really hear the love in her words and know she is coming from a real place of experience. so much words of wisdom.

A thoughtful book with some helpful nuggets and some really striking call outs and encouragements for the journey! A refreshing set of chapters and I think I will listen again. I listened as I am a ‘godmother’ thinking about caring spiritually for godchildren but this book opened my eyes to a greater need and desire for us to care deeply for each other and pastor one another’s hearts whether we are ‘officially’ godmothers or not.
