About this listen

A psychopath is hell bent on revenge. A body is found with its fingers amputated, then an investigative journalist is murdered. Bennett’s team is faced with some baffling evidence.

Hatpins and bicycle spokes become pivotal to the inquiry but the police struggle to connect the evidence. It is only when a Detective Sergeant from the team is kidnapped that Bennett realises that he is the true target.

Unsure how to even begin this review. ..... I love Hollingdrake's DCI Bennett & Owen and his style of writing. The narration, as always, could not be perforned by anyone else other than Nicholas Camm. However, there were too many occasions when I had to rewind passages to grasp what was going on. A little more explanation is required now and then. I have given 5* for this book, even though I found it complex and overly complicated. I get the style of both writing and narration is deep, but attempting to listen to this book when 'on the go' didn't work for me, it required my full attention. All that said, I shall listen again in a few weeks in the hope that I gain some clarity and a better view of it.

Complex and complicated story.
