Summary
Welcome to the most dangerous town in the West. For Marshal Bob Hatfield, that means rough justice and 100 ways to die...
In the shadow of the Prophecy Mountains, the ramshackle boomtown of Rattlesnake Wells draws schemers, predators, and desperate pilgrims. As for the law, that's the town marshal, a former Texas outlaw trying to make a new life for himself. But Sundown Bob Hatfield knows a man who's slick on the draw can't escape trouble for long. In Rattlesnake Wells, you fight fire with fire - and a new one has just exploded.
An enterprising saloon owner stages a shooting contest with a matched pair of gold-plated revolvers as first prize. But some contestants don't play by the rules, and these aren't just any old gold-plated guns. Now the guns are gone, innocent hostages have been taken for a violent ride, and a chase is on into the vast Wyoming wilderness - where a terrifying dark secret will be exposed, much blood will be spilled, and a fast-gun marshal will bring the real outlaws to their knees...

Clean the swamp
I would have like to have seen the Senator hang. Maybe it happens later. Would have liked to hear Bullock’s response to Gafford.

Great Story as usual from Johnstone
The narrator is still a little tough to understand at times but does better in this second book, I will listen to all three in the series.

Really enjoyed this.
This had a lot double crossing and triple crossing in it. I really enjoyed that. The Shaw's cracked me up. Again cringed a little whenever it time for Consuelo to speak. Loved her story line and heroics.

Who REALLY wrote this?
Brad Dennison?
I know JA Johnstone can’t turn out the amount of novels attributed to her. Each series seems to have a flavor and spirit of their own.
I like this series a lot. As always I enjoy the narration by J. Rodney Turner. Not a lot of foot dragging in the action, a little too much in the romance department. All in all an interesting story.
Missed hearing about Peter and Vern’s uncle and younger brother!
