Summary

What happens when friends become lovers? Not what a wedding planner plans in a novel of unexpected romance by New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst.

Taylor Sunshine and Pierce Powers vowed to keep things platonic. They already have the best of each other: loyalty, friendship, and trust. Why ruin the perfect relationship? That kind of forever love isn’t in the picture anyway for a restless, aspiring artist like Taylor. Her sights are set beyond the horizon of Cape May and Sunshine Bridal.

The oceanfront hometown is part of Pierce’s heart - just like Taylor is. And it breaks at the thought of her leaving. As her closest friend since high school, he supports her desires, even if she must follow them away from Cape May. But when their defenses are down, all it takes is one impulsive, vulnerable night to change all the rules.

From old friends to overnight lovers, they make a new pact: explore a summer fling, no strings attached. But as the nights heat up and their connection grows deeper, hard choices must be faced. As summer nears its end, will Taylor and Pierce fulfill their individual dreams? Or are new dreams just beginning to come true?

Critic reviews

“Both [Teddy] Hamilton's and [CJ] Bloom's narrations allow listeners to experience Taylor and Pierce's transition from friends to lovers, and the anxiety this generates in Taylor. When she is given an opportunity to show her work in Paris, listeners can feel her struggle as she longs to move on to pursue her art, knowing she will have to leave Pierce behind in Cape May. Both Hamilton and Bloom capably express Pierce's growing realization that he truly loves Taylor.” (AudioFile Magazine)

“Probst’s entertaining take on the friends-to-lovers trope hits all the right beats, enhanced by well-shaded characters readers will immediately love. This irresistible finale does not disappoint.” (Publishers Weekly)

Impossible!

I have an extensive audible library and have not previously found it necessary to return a book. However, the female reader with her childish, high pitched voice was so unpleasant that I could not finish the book. Very irritating.

Perfect ending.

If you aren’t a fan of Jennifer Probst, this series will make you a fan of her books. Each book in this series and uniquely beautiful. Each one of the Sunshine sisters come with their own sass, style and their loyalty towards the people they love. This last book is the perfect way to wrap up reader’s journey in Cape May.

Great friends to lovers

I enjoyed the last installment of The Sunshine sisters (they are all standalones) Taylor and Pierce have been best friends forever. They even kissed a couple of times over the years and nothing, but one night everything changed even though they were still in denial. I enjoyed a bit of a different take to the friends to lovers trope in this book and watching them evolve and see how their lives changed over the years. Definitely worth the read/listen.

Forever in Cape May

LOVED this one! Taylor Sunshine was a free spirit who was roped into coming back home to work the family business but when her art was noticed and she finally was offered a chance to spread her wings her family cheered her on. Her best friend through it all was Pierce. They were thick through college and on through adulthood and even as each tried to start their lives no one could stand up to be "the one" for either of them. Then "the kiss" happened and suddenly they are awkward with each other and the sparks between them...they weren't there before when they kissed back in college...

This was a spectacular story of friendship turning into more when true soulmates can learn to trust each other enough to let their guard down enough to let the other in. Definitely the perfect way to wrap up this trilogy!

Passionate and emotional story!

CJ Bloom and Teddy Hamilton are fantastic narrators. They pull you in with their incredibly passionate and emotional story telling and kept me engaged and connected to the story and characters.

We finally have Taylor’s story in Forever in Cape May. It is a sweet friends to lovers story that I devoured in one sitting. Pierce is a beautiful man. Captured by his love of photography and feelings for his best friend I fell for him hard and fast. Taylor had many insecurities to overcome and some of her actions frustrated me but overall I understood her need to find herself before being able to commit to her best friend. The chemistry and love between them as friends was evident from the start and when they give into more it is beautiful and passionate. What I loved about this book is the location and scenery. Cape May is a place I would love to go visit. The beach is inviting and the scenes of Pierce on the beach capturing beauty in his photography I loved so much. The only flaw was the lack of communication on how they were feeling for each other. It dragged on a bit too long but otherwise I loved the beautiful ending and recommend this series to contemporary romance fans.

Would give more than 5 stars

I will usually listen to a book while driving and then switch back to reading when able as I like to imagine the characters myself. These two narrators were beyond amazing and totally brought the book to life way better than I ever could have. I will absolutely search for other books narrated by them. The story itself was the usual awesomeness put out by Jennifer Probst. Full of snark, romance, passion, friendship, love; I couldn’t wait to see where the story would lead. Bravo for another excellent read(or listen).

Nice

This book was well written and the characters well developed but the friends to lovers trope is not my favorite. I didn’t really feel the chemistry between Pierce and Taylor. CJ Bloom and Teddy Hamilton were fantastic and brought the characters some needed heat.

Heart warming story

This is book 3 in the Sunshine Sisters series and tells Taylor's and Pierce's story. We know them from the first two books as Taylor is one of the Sunshine sisters and Pierce is her best friend. Jennifer Probst takes us on a journey of self discovery as each character each learns their true desires and wants. They're both artists, she paints, he photographs. The beauty she describes is brought to life by the wonderful narrators. I have both the kindle and audible and enjoy being able to switch between them as needed. Delightful story.
