I want to travel back in time..
Would you consider the audio edition of Forever His to be better than the print version?
The storyline would be good in print or audible version. The narrator did a wonderful job of creating romance with her narration, creating such feelings for the characters.
Which scene was your favorite?
I love how Saline never gave in to the demands of Gaston, cleaning, cooking, chicken coops she holds her head high to prove her worth, her point. I thought when Terrel and the nuns arrived that Christian would be discovered
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did read the book in a day, Audible has me addicted!
Any additional comments?
I guess I must read on .....in the series. I do enjoy books that are in series so there is more if I have enjoyed the first book in the series.

NO HERO, ONLY AN ARROGANT BASTARD!!
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The main male character Sir Gaston de Varennes treats Celine is humiliating & degrading. I understand he doesn't trust her, but for everybody to keep saying he is a honorable man doesn't show in the way he treats her.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Make the character Gaston more likable & for Celine to act like the modern woman she is & not like a woman from the 1300 (Stand Up For Yourself @ Least Once Without Backing Down)!!
What does Julia Motyka bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She brings the characters to life that's why I listen to audiobooks.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Since a book simular to this (Outlander) is bring made into a TV series & I plan on checking that out, eventhough I cared little for the book, I probably would.
Any additional comments?
The book is good. The storeline is really good. I just wish the main character was more likable because if I was Celine I wouldn't have given him the time of day no matter how HOT he is & personality/character shows a person's true worth & value.

Time travel enhances this love story
This book is written with rich and wonderful language, though there were a few places where it seemed that it might read in a book a little better than read out loud. But it's still beautiful. The narrator does a good job with all the voices, but with the stilted language necessary to render the medieval times, the hero Gaston comes across as a bit stiff at times -though I think it's just a difficult narration. It doesn't ruin the story, which is exciting and lovely and very interesting. I like stories that have lots of different angles to them, and this one fulfills that requirement. Surprise ending.

Fantastic!!
Where does Forever His rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
One of the best!!
What other book might you compare Forever His to and why?
No comparison, it is unique...
What does Julia Motyka bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She has a very melodic and relaxing voice.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When the hero declared his love.
Any additional comments?
I have listened to many audiobooks during these past years, but sometimes I just listen to them because I need to be entertain (I have to admit that I have an addiction). However, this book was different. The story is very believable and complex. It is unpredictable and engaging; I cannot wait to read the other two in the series.

Medieval tale with time travel. Excellent narrator
Would you listen to Forever His again? Why?
No. I don't often reread books, or in this case, relisten. It's 15 hours long, so that's a big commitment.
What other book might you compare Forever His to and why?
I'm not sure. This is the only book I have read like this. It might have some elements similar to Outlander, since it is a modern woman traveling back to medieval times.
What about Julia Motyka’s performance did you like?
She was very good with the French pronunciations. She did an excellent job distinguishing all the characters with her voice.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Some of the moments when you weren't sure how Celine's health would hold up were tense and sad. Celine also had a good sense of humor about her situation. And I loved to hate the bad guy!
Any additional comments?
This unusual medieval tale features a modern woman who unexpectedly travels back in time to the year 1300. She winds up in the bed of a dark lord named Gaston. He thinks she is the ward of his enemy whom the king is forcing him to marry in a bid to keep the peace. He's not about to trust her, and her ridiculous story about being from the future only leads him to think she may be mad. But Celine is very lovely and through her hard work and helpfulness, she gains the trust and devotion of his servants. Soon Gaston can't deny his attraction to her, but for a man who has never known love, it is almost impossible to admit what he feels. Meanwhile, Celine must find a way to get back to her time to avoid a life-threatening medical condition, even though she will leave her heart behind with Gaston.
The story has many humorous moments as she tries to convince people who she is and then starts "inventing" gadgets to make their lives easier. But there are also dark moments when Gaston suspects her of plotting with his enemy, and when that enemy moves to take care of them both and take everything Gaston holds for himself. I enjoyed the glimpse into medieval life. The sex was pretty hot, yet much more tender than you would expect from a fierce warrior.

Would you listen to Forever His again? Why?
I might listen again to loose myself in a fun fantasy. I would have loved to see the main Male character go to the modern world with his lady R.
What other book might you compare Forever His to and why?
The Highlander series has similar romantic themes.. Ya know big handsome man protects beautiful women. And of course adventure, danger and time travel.
What about Julia Motyka’s performance did you like?
It was seamless.

A Wonderful Time Travel Romance
Where does Forever His rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Time Travel Romances are one of my favourite genres. This one was tops. I enjoyed every moment of this impressively well-written time travel romance. It was well-thought out and the writing was polished and the story line was well-researched and edited. It was really thrilling.
What did you like best about this story?
The fact that it was a believable, well-organized, researched and presented book. I like the historical parts and the insight into what life was like "700 years" ago. That's what I like most about time travel books and the romantic interaction between the lovers....Awwww. It was exciting (hot actually) and touching and very tender.
Impressively well-written and I like your writing style and prose. The characters were so well developed and I fell in love with both the heroine and hero of the story very early on. I just cannot stress how well put together this book is. I loved this story. I could hardly bear to wait till morning to continue listening. This story really, really gripped me. Thanks for a great time.
What about Julia Motyka’s performance did you like?
I have been listening to Julia read another author's books and I have become a great fan of her voice and her rendition of the narrator parts and actual voice changes as she portrays the various characters in the book. She did it well again in Shelly's series. Irresistible performance.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes. Celine's meeting and connection with Fiara and then Brynna was really something and then the final surprising ending and Celine's empathy for her beloved friends.
Any additional comments?
This full length, well written book combined elements of a historical romance and a contemporary one--the time travel element was particularly, intriguing. The humor and funny parts were hilarious. The many great characters, were essential to the plot and one got attached to not just the two main characters Gaston and Celine, but many others also.
I couldn't listen to this book fast enough and at the same time I didn't want it to end. As mentioned before, the heroine and hero were brilliantly portrayed and I fell in love with both of them. After I listened to this book, I'm about to continue to the next book His Forbidden Touch as I so want to know experience the emotive, forbidden love of the secondary characters, portrayed. I'm going to be watching for and looking forward to more sequels.

not quite five star
So I had high expectations for this book, after reading reviews. I agree with some, disagree with others. The narration, it was good except that this reader 'drops off' at the end of words and I couldn't hear them. Drove me crazy, if I had it loud enough to hear the ends, the rest was too loud. Haven't had this problem before. The story, parts of it were very exciting and kept my interest. But toward the end I kept thinking, come on already, this is too drawn out. Maybe it was the narration that added to wanting this to end. I do love a lot of time travel books. My favorite is still 'Knight in Shining Armor'. This one is not at that level. As others have said, Gaston was an arrogant alpha male. However, I think any warrior from the middle ages would be that way, and probably would not have changed into a loving caring man. One reason I would not actually want to go back in that time! This story is a fun concept, not very realistic but then fantasy is more fun. Might listen to another in this series.
