Story
Five years ago, Zeph met River. The timing couldn’t have been worse. An orphan with something to prove and the ghosts of his past breathing down his neck, Zeph took the offer from a pro MMA gym to live and train in the Midwest. River let him go easily. If it was a convenient excuse to escape emotional intimacy, neither of them had to admit it. Until now.

After zero-gravity heroics left astronaut Nicolas Rogers injured, his new job as a park ranger seems perfect. Being a caretaker of his corner of the Smoky Mountains makes him almost okay with having to be on Earth. More importantly, this deep in the woods, Nico's practically a hermit at a remote ranger station. Sure, he has good friends in nearby Knoxville, but he's otherwise free from petty drama and broken hearts...until Deen enters his world.

The truth is, I'm an admin assistant who applied for a job that sounded kind of interesting and ended up working for the Community of Species Government. I'm the only human in the office, and basically I ride herd on a team of rambunctious shifters and demons. I also spend a lot of time avoiding Gideon Bailey, the demon I had a one-night stand with right before I took this job. He hates me, and I really want to avoid being murdered. The job at Sunday Orchard was supposed to be temporary. A chance to gain some work experience, to have some fun. I had not expected to be welcomed into a family of gorgeous and weirdly efficient lumberjack-types, or to find purpose in the tiny Vermont town whose claim to fame seemed to be apple-based products and copious amounts of charm. And I most definitely hadn’t expected to fall for Knox Sunday, my grumpy, burly, fifteen-years-older, reluctant roommate, with his infuriating lectures, his hot-as-fire body, his superior attitude - I’ve never been one to put down roots.

Story
I'll be the first to admit that I live at extremes. After going 10 years locked in what felt like a dysfunctional marriage, I'm now decidedly boy-free. In nearly three years I've had no boyfriends, no flings, no dates, and no sex. For the sake of my dream career, the sacrifice has been easy. At least it was. Until he came along. Lukas Hendricks. He's rude, gorgeous, arrogant - a stone-carved wall of muscle and distraction. He's everything I know to avoid but there's no avoiding your next-door neighbor.
Summary
“He's waiting for me to ask, and I'm afraid.”
“I'm just one more gay guy here.”
Moving to the suburbs of L.A. was supposed to give Nic Montero a fresh start. After escaping his family, coming out as a gay trans man, and excelling in computer programming out of desperation to get financially stable or die, everything should be easy. But joining gay culture now, post-transition, feels impossible...until he runs into the force of nature that is Kyle. Everything Nic isn't, Kyle embodies. Green hair, garters and cut-off shorts, sports jerseys, and all, brash Kyle is the most gorgeous man he's ever laid eyes on, and he pulls Nic headlong into the center of his world. If only Nic felt like enough for a man like Kyle.
“One-night stands are my only option.”
Loud, loving, and too much for most men to handle, Kyle Everett catches eyes and occasionally scorn...even at his job at the local HIV charity, Plus. His days and nights are spent at work, his precious spare moments spent with his son, Kevin, when it's his turn to co-parent, or his best friend, drag queen River. He only has money or time for cheap flings, but the lanky otter who walks into his life makes Kyle want to hold him for longer than a night. He knows what it's like for Nic to be without a family, but he isn't brave enough to let this man into his life...until his charity is targeted by bigots, and Nic's there for him.
“I'll stay with you if you're brave enough to be you.”
Nic spent his 20s avoiding family and even his own femininity, but his yearning is impossible to ignore. Kyle's used to flying solo, but Nic offers him safety and fills gaps in his life he never realized existed and now can't stand. Living in close proximity, they can't run from their attraction, but they're each used to being rejected, with the emotional scars to prove it. Can two men who feel like they're not enough and too much find something just right?

Easy solutions
The characters were good and the narration great. It's just... sometimes an author accepts the first things that come to mind. And mostly those prove a lack of imagination and can ruin a story. So this novel is a strange combination of original and cliché.

I absolutely love this book!
Kyle and Nic are both wonderful characters, with some insecurities but also a great amount of strength and faith in themselves that enables them to develop a slow-but-steady-paced relationship.
I think Ed Davies manages to portray Nic being trans and Kyle being enby in a beautiful way, and I love how they find it in themselves and each other to go a step beyond and overcome their bits of fears to be together, unapologetically their true selves.
Joel Leslie, well, Joel Leslie makes every book he narrates into a work of art, so I really wish I could give an additional star to this audiobook!

Nice paced story, likeable characters. nice to read a story about a healthy gay relationship between a trans man and a cis man. Some oddities and inaccuracies reference Nick's trans body but overall the story is positive and loving. and Nic and Kyle are to die for together ♥️

Very good story
I really enjoyed Flaunt. It was a great story to listen to. I haven’t read the book yet (I really do prefer reading them first) and I will definitely be reading as soon as I can. I liked the pace Joel Leslie kept in his narration and that he used different inflections and voices for each character. I liked his voice and enjoyed listening to this book. I thought the Nic and Kyle were interesting with different issues and I liked their story. It was a hot, easy to listen to story and I would recommend it.

Finding their own way.
Nick has recently started working for Synergy and has been given an assignment to work with a charity to update their computer software. His liaison within the charity is Kyle. Although they don't know it yet they both have alot of past hurt and family rejection in common with each other as well as an attraction toward each other. lots of angst and homophobic behaviour as well as fun, friendship and family. Joel Leslie did a great job narrating and he did a really convincing job of sounding like a conjested kid, one of the best child voices I have heard since I started listening to audio books. I really enjoyed the story and can't wait to listen to book 2 in the series.

Great book, great audio
Nic a gay trans man and computer geek moved to La for a new start, and a new job.
Working for a large computer company his first assignment is at a gay HIV charity to sort out their IT needs.
Shy and uncertain of his identity still and having no friends made Nic a little uncertain of himself.
Kyle a complete force of nature, loud proud and def gay is Nics contact at the charity.
This is a really delightful book, you get a lot of drama, some gay hate, violence, hurt, comfort, love, confidence building, family, friends, seriously this book has everything including a HEA.
Loved listening to this on Audible plus I read it a good year ago. Great book. Narrated well by Joel Leslie.

Amazing
Nic, a gay trans man, gets a new start as a computer programmer in LA. Kyle, works for a company, an HIV charity, that has hired Nic to update everything. Between the charity and spending time with his son, and his drag queen best friend he doesn’t have time for much, but makes time for Nic. And after Kyles charity is targeted by bigots, the two get even closer.
This book is another one that I come to associate with E. Davies. It is a romance, but with real world situations and problems that come up that make the story so much more relatable to the reader. The characters are well thought out and well developed throughout the entire book! It’s rare to see a trans MC in books, and E. captures him amazingly well! There’s some suspense that helps continue the story line along but it’s not so intense that you’re wringing your hands. All in all, this is an amazing read!
I received a copy of this book from the author for my honest review.

It really pulled me in right from the start and coupled with Joel Leslie's narration and exemplary audio delivery. This one was absolutely fabulous.
I love that we get to see trans representation here and Nic was such a well fleshed out character.

great listen
I love this book. The storyline was well thought out and well written. The main characters were great they were so different on the surface and yet a lot of alike underneath. The supporting characters were also well developed to the extent that they needed to be to contribute to this story but not overly intrusive.
Joel did a great job with the voices of this book. It was pleasant to listen to. I just popped in my earbuds and listened as i did my housework. Made my work go by quicker and was pleasant to listen to.

Flaunt is fabulous!
Nic has moved to a new city and truly wants to live his full life; he's just not completely sure how to get to that point.
Kyle simply loves life and lives it on his own terms.
When these two met and finally start to tear each other's walls down, you will find yourself cheering for them and crying with them at times. As always, E. Davies pulls the emotions out of his readers by giving the characters such depth that you honestly feel as if they are simply waiting for you to visit them.
The narrator, Joel Leslie, does an amazing job bringing each character to life. I've found that some have issues when it comes to children's voices but man, Joel nails Kevin!

All was well....
This is the first book in the F-word series by Ed Davies, which features a variety of characters from trans, to enby, to femme and drags...
Featuring in this first book are Nick, a trans man and Kyle, femme and daring in his style choices. Both man have trust and commitment issues due to their past, and together they will find a way to get over them and find their HEA.
Joel Leslie's narration gives this wonderful book an extra spark that will keep you glued to your headphones!

Good
I really liked Nick and Kyle. They are an adorable couple and though Kyle fights it they are absolutely perfect for each other. The chemistry is off the charts and I really love listening to them interact. Even through their pasts and the current issues they face they are able to connect and grow as both a couple and individuals. I really liked the narrator and the job that he did with this story. Although I didn’t like long pauses at the beginning of each chapter it was awkward.

Awesome Story!!
I love this story!! It’s a sweet and beautiful story with wonderful characters and a storyline that captivated me right from the very beginning. Nic and Kyle are wonderful together and I love their chemistry and connection. Kyle is very understanding and accepting of Nic and Nic is wonderfully patient and supportive with Kyle. The narrator is spectacular and does an incredible job with all of the voices and with the feelings of the story. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Differences Make Us Better
I have come to expect wonderful things from E. Davies in terms of storytelling. His characters are always well developed, the story pacing is spot on and the siren call that hooks you happens from nearly page one. This book was no different. It was amazing and handles what could be a very clunky and confusing subject matter in a way that is delicate, honest and respectful to the characters.
I have read this entire series and each story is just wonderful but being able to hear the stellar performance of Joel Leslie bring these beautiful men to life is a treat not to be missed. Joel is a star performer and I can honestly say that there has never been a performance that I've listened to where his work was not incredible. So he certainly get's high marks for this performance for while Joel's voice is distinctive the nuances he infuses each character with unique and really such a gift for a listener. I hope he does the rest of this series *hint, hint Joel and E *
Nic is a trans man who has had to deal with more than his share of homophobia and it has made him gun shy about letting people in. He is a shadow unafraid to step into the light until him. He is vibrant, vivacious and all the things that Nic fears. But can a man who has built a life from nothing let in a man whose light will challenge him to embrace even the most secreted parts of who he is?
Kyle is unapologetic in who he is. He is proud of what he has accomplished in his life and that pride has come at a cost but it is one that he would pay again. His struggle has given him purpose and he uses his experience to help those still mired in the muck giving them tools to help themselves. To empower those who cannot always see their worth and there are those still afraid of those who dare to shine.
When tragedy strikes and throws them together can they trust enough to let the other in? To show the unblemished truth of who they are separately and find a way to meld them into a beautiful, shiny future? Can they believe that what they most want for themselves is standing before them waiting just for them to make their own?
Take the journey and find out. It's worth it. Soooo worth it!
